The Weekly Buzz
From Palmer River Elementary School
May 30, 2025
Dear Families,
It’s hard to believe that Monday is June 2nd—and even harder to believe we only have 14.5 school days left until summer vacation! With so many exciting events coming up at PRES, be sure to check out the list of upcoming activities below—this final stretch is packed with fun!
This week, we celebrated our remaining April Monthly Mindset role models (pictured above and looking fabulous). Several grade levels also hit the road for field trips, visiting awesome destinations like the Ecotarium and the Carpenter Museum. The kids came back full of knowledge—and possibly a little exhausted (teachers too!). Kindergarten students had the Barn Babies visit today, which was a highlight of the year, for sure.
Mrs. DiPalma and Mrs. Cohen also hosted their annual Library Lock-In, a much-loved event tied to one of the Mr. Lemoncello books. It's part reading celebration, part adventure, and 100% library magic.
And the energy doesn’t stop there—our Boosterthon fundraiser officially kicked off this week! Students are working hard to earn pledges, and the excitement is building for the big event: the Boosterthon Fun Run on June 6th! Get those sneakers ready—it’s going to be a blast.
Wishing you a fun and relaxing weekend! See you next week for more PRES adventures—we’re almost at the finish line!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kristine Kefor, Principal

The Buzz from the Health Office 🐝
Physicals STILL Needed for 4th Graders!!
This is a quick reminder for families of our 4th-grade students: I’m still missing over half of the required physicals that need to be submitted for your child to transition smoothly into middle school next year. These physicals are essential as they help ensure that our students are healthy and ready for the physical demands of middle school, including sports.
Please submit your child’s physical exam form as soon as possible. You can email or bring the form to the nurse.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school community healthy! If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me directly at eferreira@drregional.org
Wishing you all good health and a wonderful spring season!
Kind Regards,
Elizabeth Ferreira, RN, BSN, SNT

Thursday, June 5
This is the big one! We need as many hands as possible to help set up for the 4th Grade Art Show. Come for an hour or stay all day, any help is greatly appreciated!
Please Note: All parent volunteers must have a current CORI on file. If you're unsure of your status or need to complete one, please reach out Andrea Halajko at ahalajko@drregional.org or Linda Saxon at lsaxon@drregional.org in the office.
Anticipated Traffic Delays Due to Upcoming Rotary Work
Please be advised that roadwork is scheduled to take place in the new rotary. We encourage all families to allow extra time for drop-off and pick-up during this period. Bus routes may also be slightly delayed.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as this work is completed. We will share any updates as they become available.
Wellness Committee June Calendar
The Monthly Mindset
In June, we are celebrating our PRES Star Students!
A PRES Star Student is someone who stands out in a positive way! This student shows kindness, responsibility, and a positive attitude both in and out of the classroom. They put forth their best effort in their work, treat others with respect, and are a great role model for their classmates. Being chosen as a Star Student means you’re recognized for your hard work, good character, and contributions to our school community. We are very proud of our Star Students!

Rehoboth PTSA Announcements
Upcoming Elections for the Board
Our PTSA is gearing up for the upcoming election, and… we’re currently flying solo. That’s right—no nominations yet. Most urgently, we can’t move forward without a Secretary (seriously, the bylaws say so). Without a full board, many of the fun events and helpful programs we all love (and our kids look forward to!) could see major changes. Don’t worry, we promise it’s not all Robert’s Rules and spreadsheets. There’s laughter, friendships, and the chance to make a real impact.
Elections will be held at our membership meeting on June 12, 2025 at 6:30pm and more information can be found on our website (rehobothptsa.org/Elections). Nominate yourself or someone else today!
