At Hawks View, we are proud to offer the Hawks Zone, a space designed to support the development of students' emotional and social skills. Also known as a skill-building and wellness room, the Hawks Zone is overseen by a trained Instructional Assistant, Mrs. Walker, who assists students in recognizing and understanding their own emotions, as well as those of others, and equips them with strategies and tools to manage their emotions effectively. Additionally, students engage in self-regulation activities to further develop emotional resilience.
The Hawks Zone provides support for students, either on a one-on-one basis or in small groups. In Kindergarten, every student at Hawks View has the unique opportunity to participate in small group sessions with Mrs. Walker, where they explore emotions and learn strategies for emotional awareness and management. This is just one of the many ways in which our students are encouraged to grow, both academically and emotionally, at Hawks View.
