HPS Weekly Update
Week of May 3rd 2026
HPS Mission: We are empowered to learn today and lead tomorrow
HPS Vision: HPS Staff collaborate to create a safe environment and instill a growth mindset
Teacher Appreciation
The week of May 4th-8th is Teacher Appreciation Week! High Plains has AMAZING teachers that not only instruct students each day but coach athletics, lead before and after school activities, are involved in school and district committees, and each day do the best to provide our students with a fun, safe, and caring learning environment. Please take a moment to share your appreciation with your child’s teachers this week by sending an email, a handwritten note, a phone call, or an in person message of gratitude!
Library News
It is that that time of the year when ALL Library books need to be returned back to their shelf for the summer. Check your bedrooms, check your closets, check your backpacks for those Library books. Mrs. Groover needs ALL Library books to be returned to the Library by May 15th, if not sooner. If a book is lost please let Mrs. Groover know so that it can be paid for and replaced.
PTCO Meeting
Stay connected and get involved! Our next PTCO meeting takes place virtually on May 5th at 7PM. Join us online using this link.
Lost and Found
Our lost and found collection continues to grow. We encourage you to check for any items that may belong to your child. Unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the school year.
Annual Family Check-In
The Annual Family Check-in (AFC) is now open. We kindly ask that you take a few minutes to review and update your family's information, including phone numbers, addresses, and emergency contacts. Please click the link for step-by-step instructions on how to access the AFC.
Annual Bison Summer Kickoff
Get ready to kick off summer the right way! Join us on May 8th from 5:00–7:00 PM for the HPS PTCO Summer Kickoff! This fun-filled evening will have something for everyone - music, an inflatable obstacle course, games, face paint, and tons of summer vibes. Best of all, HPS students will receive a FREE Kona Ice or ice cream treat! Bring your friends, bring your family, and come celebrate the start of summer with us!
Volunteers needed for Summer Kickoff
The PTCO needs your help! The Summer Kick Off is THIS Friday from 5-7PM and we need volunteers. Please check out the link and let us know how you can help!
Inflatable Obstacle Course
***PERMISSION SLIPS NEEDED***
Please return inflatable obstacle course permission slips to your child’s teacher as soon as possible. The best option is to bring the completed form directly to the Summer Kickoff event to ensure it is received and your student can get their wristband. Wristbands will only be given to students who have a signed permission slip on file, and the child must be present at the event to receive it.
Mathnasium
Join us in welcoming a new learning opportunity to our community at the Mathnasium Grand Opening! Families are invited to stop by, enjoy refreshments, and learn how Mathnasium helps students build confidence and succeed in math. You’ll have the chance to tour the center, meet the team, and even schedule a free assessment for your child. Come celebrate with us on May 5 from 4:30–6:30 p.m. at Mathnasium of Loveland—we’d love to see you there!
