Dear Northwood Families,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend and were able to enjoy the beautiful weather! We are looking forward to a regular, full five-day school week ahead. Let’s make the most of it — every day of learning counts, and attendance truly matters. Being present each day helps students stay connected, build routines, and continue making strong academic progress.

You may notice new signage at our school entry. The signs state:
“All visitors must present a valid form of identification before entering school premises in accordance with Texas Education Code 38.022 and the NEISD Student-Parent Handbook.”

This means that all visitors entering the building will be required to present a valid ID before accessing the front office area and secure vestibule. Please be prepared and bring your identification anytime you plan to come to campus. As shared in my letter on Friday, safety is not always convenient, but it is always a priority. We appreciate your cooperation as we continue working together to keep our students and staff safe.

On Tuesday and Wednesday our students who as clasifed as Emergent Bilingual students will be participating in TELPAS. TELPAS (Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System) is an annual spring assessment for K-12 students in Texas public schools who are learning English. It measures proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing to track progress towards English fluency. Please be aware of this imporant assessment and help us keep a postive testing environment for these students.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We look forward to a great week at Northwood!

Warmly,
Mrs. Harper

School Lunch

We have a wonderful cafeteria that serves breakfast and lunch daily. This year meals are provided at no charge to ALL students as part of the Community Eligibility Program. Click THIS link to watch a short video about what is included on the school breakfast or lunch tray and what items are an extra charge.

If your child wants "extras" beyond the regular school tray, you need to add money to their cafeteria account by visiting schoolcafe.com or sending in a check or cash.

School Absences

Our goal is for all of our students to maintain outstanding attendance (at least 95%).

The best way to learn is by being present at school and on time, ready to learn at 7:25 am every day! If your child needs to be absent due to illness, please be sure to send a note to school the day they return explaining the reason for the absence. Absences for illness and medical appointments will be excused with a written note. A student can have no more than 18 absences in order to recieve credit for the course/grade level.
