From the Principal.....Please complete the meal application if you have not already! This brings millions of dollars to our district.

From the Springdale School District -

While all students are being provided free meals this school year, there are still benefits to qualifying each school year!

In addition to free meals available, what many students and parents do not know is:

Free and Reduced Status gives seniors admission fee waivers when they are applying to colleges.

NCAA fee waivers is a student is registering for eligibility status as a potential college athlete.

2 fee waivers for the ACT during their junior or senior years of high school.

Each school does receive funding if a percentage of the school is free & reduced qualify. Schools must spend that in a specific way that I've broken down below!

By state statute, our district is restricted in how we can spend ESA funds. Our district spends ESA funds on the following allowable expenditures:

--To have nurses in each building.

--To sustain 1:1 technology for students.

--To have school resource officers.

--To have instructional facilitators that help our teachers.

--To provide point in time remediation.

--To employ social workers.

--To employ EAST teachers across the district.

--On Pre-K. In order to receive our ABC grant for Pre K, we have to match some of the grant expenses. Pre K is an allowable expense of ESA dollars.

--On Alternative Learning Programs throughout our district

We had clubs on Friday!

Friday was our club day. We do this once a month during Hero Hour at the beginning of the day. Students sign up for a club for this semester and then they will pick a new club for the second semester. Here are some pictures from Friday. The clubs we offered this semester are listed above.

PrimeTime

On Tuesday & Wednesday, we spend our Hero Hour doing intervention & enrichment. We call this time PrimeTime. Two weeks ago we introduced this schedule to students by offering academic enrichment classes. These classes had an academic focus, but students could choose a topic that interested them. Here are some pictures from that day.

HBHS Homecoming

Our school went outside on Thursday and watched the HBHS Homecoming parade! Our students did a GREAT job of watching, cheering, and cleaning up at the end. Our Heroes represented us well this day!! Here are some photos from that day.
