Arrival & Dismissal Safety Reminder Arrival & Dismissal Safety Reminder

Dear Meadow View Caregivers,

This is a reminder that if you choose to use the drop-off line in the morning, please remain in your vehicle at all times. If you prefer to walk your student to Door 1, please park your vehicle in the parking lot and walk with your student, using the designated crosswalk appropriately.

We have noticed a few caregivers who are not following our arrival and dismissal safety procedures. Please understand that getting out of your vehicle while in the drop-off line creates a safety risk for other students, families, and vehicles. We need everyone’s cooperation to keep our arrival and dismissal process safe.

4K families: Please park in the parking lot and walk your student to Door 1. Please do not use the drop-off line.

We will continue to partner with the Sun Prairie Police Department whenever possible to help support safe arrival and dismissal procedures at our school.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep all of our Otters safe!

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Otter Trot Otter Trot

Thursday, October 15 | 8am - 12 pm Thursday, October 15 | 8am - 12 pm

Every year the SCO hosts a fundraising fun run for all Meadow View students. Students run and walk from 8 to 20 minutes and celebrate physical fitness. Parents and families cheer on their students and donate money to the SCO, if they are able to. This year, our goal is to raise $12,000.

Donate Now to Support Our Otters

The Otter Trot directly supports the Meadow View students, families and teachers

Here's a little bit more about our why and what we plan to do with the money we raise - it's all about our students, our teachers, and our families. The money we raise will go a long way to help us support our mission to strengthen our school community so that every Otter learns, every Otter leads, and every Otter belongs.

Every Otter will receive an Otter Trot t-shirt and participate in the event. While we are using the Otter Trot as an opportunity to raise money, fundraising is not required to participate. We know some Otter families will not be able to donate and that is ok! We hope families who can donate will. Every dollar counts and every donation will get us one step closer to meeting our fundraising goals.

We have fun rewards and incentives planned to celebrate meeting our fundraising goals

This year, we are not only tracking the overall amount we raise, we are also going to be tracking fundraising by grade level teams. The teams are based on Meadow View's ecosystems in the school that designate the grade and classroom locations across the building. Otter families will donate to the grade team or teams of their students.

All Otter Trot details, including what we do with the money we raise, links to our volunteer form and what to expect on the day of the Otter Trot are available on the SCO Otter Trot webpage.

Birthday Treat Guidelines Birthday Treat Guidelines

We wanted to provide some guidelines regarding birthday treats and appreciate your cooperation in ensuring the well-being and inclusivity of all students. Please take a moment to review the following reminders:

  1. Accessibility and Allergies: When bringing in birthday treats, please ensure that the food labels are easily accessible to Kelsey and Madhu, our staff members at the front desk, who are responsible for allergy awareness. This allows them to check for any potential allergens that may affect students in the class.

  2. Individually Packed Items: We kindly request that you consider providing individually packed items for birthday treats. This helps with portion control and ensures convenience for distribution. Individually packaged treats also minimize the risk of cross-contamination and promote cleanliness.

  3. Non-Food Treats: We encourage you to explore the option of non-food treats for birthdays. Non-food items can be equally enjoyable and are a great way to celebrate while accommodating various dietary preferences and restrictions. Examples include small toys, stickers, pencils, or bookmarks.

  4. No Class-Wide Food Items: To maintain a balanced and inclusive approach, we kindly ask that you refrain from providing class-wide food items such as pizzas or hot dishes. This helps prevent any potential disruptions to the regular meal routine and ensures that dietary restrictions are respected.

  5. No Balloons: While we understand that balloons are often associated with celebrations, we kindly request that you refrain from bringing balloons to school. This is to maintain a safe and distraction-free environment for all students.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in following these guidelines. By working together, we can create inclusive celebrations that ensure the well-being of every student. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
