Principals' Message
Dear SCS Families and Caregivers,
End-of-Year Updates & A Heartfelt Thank You
It is hard to believe that we are already approaching the final full week of another school year! With just 9.5 days of school remaining (8.5 for our 8th graders), our calendar is packed, and energy is high. From the upcoming Jog-a-thon next week to final team projects and year-end field trips in full swing, thank you for your incredible energy in keeping our students engaged and focused during this home stretch.
Welcoming Back Alumni: The CVU RISE Program - Next week, we are excited to welcome back a handful of former SCS students—now 10th–12th graders at CVU—as part of the high school's year-end RISE program. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to reconnect with the teachers and mentors who shaped their educational journey, and for us to benefit from their experience as burgeoning community leaders. Their presence is a great reminder that the bonds formed in our classrooms extend far beyond SCS graduation. Please give them a warm welcome if you see them in the halls!
A Special Thank You: Central Office & Principal Kindergarten VisitsOver the past week, the Central Office Leadership Team and our school principals have been visiting kindergarten classrooms across the district for a special student identity project.
As part of this year’s theme, “There’s a kindergartner in all of us,” district leaders sat down with every kindergarten student across CVSD to ask three core questions:
What makes you unique?
What are you proud of?
What do you hope to achieve?
This initiative directly connects our youngest learners to the district’s ongoing work to map and maximize identity, connection, proficiency, and direction—and the students absolutely loved sharing their stories!
To our Kindergarten Team: Thank you so much for opening up your classrooms to us. Interviewing all of these students was incredibly bucket-filling and a true highlight of our week. Your flexibility and collaboration made this project possible.
In partnership,
Antonia, Jen and Brett
The SCS Administrative team

Shelburne Residents: Weigh In on the Town’s Future
The Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC) is supporting the Town of Shelburne in updating its Town Plan and is inviting residents, workers, and community members to participate in a short community survey. The Town Plan establishes goals and policies that guide local decision-making related to housing, economic development, transportation, land use, and community character. Community input will help shape draft recommendations that reflect current needs and priorities.
The survey takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete and is available online at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/VM2T8B8. Participants may enter a raffle to win one of four $50 gift certificates to a Shelburne local business. Printed copies and alternative formats are available upon request. Community members with questions or who need assistance completing the survey may contact Anne Nelson Stoner at anstoner@ccrpcvt.org.
