BULLDOG BULLETIN
May 24, 2025
Dear Bulldog Families,
What a wonderful day we had yesterday at Field Day! The Circus was a tremendous success, filled with laughter, sunshine, and school spirit from start to finish. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect as our students traveled through a series of circus-themed stations around the building. From balancing acts to clown tosses, juggling games to animal relay races, the entire school transformed into a vibrant carnival of fun. The energy was contagious—filled with excited cheers, smiling faces, and plenty of teamwork and encouragement from classmates and staff alike.
A very special thank you goes to the many volunteers who helped run the stations—your time and enthusiasm helped make the day so memorable for our students. We are especially grateful to our very own Ring Master, Mrs. LePage, for her creativity and hard work in organizing such a fun and seamless event. We’d also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Martin family for their generous donation of Field Day shirts for all students and staff. Your kindness truly helped build a strong sense of unity and pride as everyone sported their matching shirts throughout the day.
To top it all off, students were treated to a surprise finale: an inflatable animal and clown race who brought even more laughter and delight to our already exciting day!
As we reflect on this special event, we’re also taking time to appreciate what a truly wonderful year it has been at Sarah Adams. It’s hard to believe how quickly the time has flown, but it’s clear that this year has been full of growth, connection, and joy; with everyone truly bringing their Bulldog Best every day.
Together, we’ve created so many meaningful memories as a school community—from classroom celebrations and musical performances to special theme days and shared traditions. Throughout it all, we have witnessed tremendous academic and social-emotional growth in our students. They have shown resilience, curiosity, kindness, and perseverance in so many ways, and we couldn’t be more proud of each and every one of them.
We are also deeply grateful to our incredible PTO, whose behind-the-scenes dedication all year long brought even more fun to our school. From planning events to supporting classrooms and staff, their tireless efforts made a lasting impact this year.
Most of all, we want to express how much we truly value the opportunity to work with your children each day. They inspire us, make us laugh, challenge us to grow, and fill our school with heart. We are so fortunate to spend our days with them, and we are honored to call them Bulldogs. Thank you, families, for your ongoing partnership and support. You make such a difference in our Sarah Adams community!
Wishing everyone a wonderful last week of school and a restful, joyful summer ahead!
Warm regards,
Dr. Colleen Conway

Student Spotlight!
Have you ever wondered what Greek Mythology is? Well let us summarize what we have been learning about in fourth grade. Greek mythology is a type of folktale that has been told for thousands of years. These myths explained many origins of life and were told by ancient Greeks. Some Gods we read about included Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Athena, Aphrodite, Hephaestus, Midas, Pandora, and Achilles. We read myths, performed reader’s theater plays, and researched our favorite God or Goddess. As you can see, we have learned a lot about Greek mythology. We enjoyed it and recommend reading some mythology this summer.

Health Update: Tick Information
As we approach the end of the school year and are spending more time outdoors as a learning community, I wanted to share some important health information - as there has been a noted increase in our area.
Tick Information
Ticks are small arachnids (similar to a spider or a mite), that have multiple pairs of legs and no antennae. Ticks feed on host animals, and can carry diseases. There are several species of ticks that have been identified in Illinois, each with slightly different features. Further information related to tick identification, removal, and steps to prevent tick bites is provided below.
Tick Identification (Illinois Department of Public Health)
Tick Removal (Lake County Health Department)
Fight the Bite (Lake County Health Department)
Health Office Support
If your student is identified as having a tick bite during the school day, Health Office staff are equipped to remove the tick. Parents/guardians will be notified that a tick was removed in these situations. Health Office staff are also prepared to save the tick, should families wish to obtain it/take it to their healthcare provider.
We will continue to be vigilant of ticks during the school day, and ask that our families do the same at home. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any further questions you may have.
