We will begin MAP Testing on Wednesday, April 29. It will conclude on Friday, May 8 for students who attend every day. Make up testing will occur the week of May 11. Our testing begins at 8:45 a.m. for 3rd and 4th grade daily. Our testing for 5th grade begins at 9:45 a.m. daily. If a student arrives after the start time, he/she will not be able to join the testing once it is started.
Classroom teachers can give you the exact dates and times if you know your child may be out or late. We appreciate you doing everything you can to have your child here each day and on time.
Water Day
Our classrooms have been working all year on weekly snitch reports from home. If the class meets the goal, the class will be invited to Water Day. Students who do not complete at home reading will NOT be included in the class invite because they haven't contributed to the goal. Parents of students who are not on track to participate have been notified throughout the school year. Water Day will take place on Thursday, May 21. For those who qualify to participate, please bring a change of dry clothes on that day. Students without a dry set of clothes to change into will not participate. This is a shine event only which means it will not be rescheduled if weather doesn't cooperate.
We are looking for parent volunteers to help run the Water Day stations on Thursday, May 21. If you are an approved volunteer, please consider signing up. The link below will allow you to sign up. Sign ups will close on Wednesday, May 13 at noon. SCE will be in touch with volunteers with additional information by Friday, May 16 through the email you list on the volunteer sign up below. Visitors will not be able to attend Water Day. Only those who volunteer will attend. Volunteers can't bring younger siblings while volunteering.

Hall of Frames
Is Your Family Photo In the Hallway Gallery of SCE Families Yet?
Over the summer, we add to our collage of framed photographs in our hallway. It looks amazing and our SCE Family will love being able to look up at these as they walk through the hallway. If you did not hand yours in you may still do so, but know they will not be hung up immediately. This takes a team of teachers and other volunteers to do this. If you hand a frame in now, it will go up but be patient. Any frames handed in prior to July 11 will be included in the frames we target to hang up for August. Frames received after July 11 will be stored and hung up at a later date. Each family may contribute only one 5x7 frame.
What type of frames are we looking for?
Must be 5x7
Photo can be vertical or horizontal
Black Frame
Frames will be screwed into wall. Please see the frame type we are looking for below. These frames hold up to being screwed into the wall. Not having the right frame may delay frame being hung.

Creating Spring Memories at Stone Creek
Spring has been full of excitement, learning, and meaningful moments here at Stone Creek! Our students have been busy making memories both inside and outside the classroom, and it’s been wonderful to see their joy and engagement shine through in so many ways.
Our first graders had an unforgettable adventure on their field trip to Big Joel's Safari.
Alphabet Theme Days have added an extra layer of fun to learning. Students have been diving into creative, hands-on activities tied to each letter—like “B is for bubbles” and “C is for chalk.” Whether they were drawing colorful sidewalk masterpieces or enjoying playful bubble time with friends, these themed days have made learning both engaging and memorable.
Students have also been building strong connections during House Family Time. These special gatherings bring students together across grade levels to collaborate, celebrate, and grow as a community. It’s always inspiring to see older and younger students working side by side, encouraging one another, and strengthening the sense of belonging that makes Stone Creek so special.
We are also proud to celebrate our 3rd Quarter Top Point Earner—The House of Tanzanite! Their hard work, positive behavior, and teamwork truly stood out this quarter. The excitement during the “Raise the Flag” celebration was a perfect reflection of their achievement and school spirit.
We are proud to create an environment where learning is joyful, connections are strong, and memories are always being made.
Volunteer of the Month
March Volunteer of the Month
Congratulations to the March Volunteer of the Month, Margaret Thomas. Thank you for volunteering for 13.25 hours. Mrs. Thomas was not mentioned in the April Newsletter due to spring break, but is enjoying the perks of a fast pass, and parking spot. We appreciate all you do for our staff and students.
April Volunteer of the Month
Margaret was also Stone Creek's April Volunteer of the Month! She will continue to receive preferential parking in our Volunteer of the Month parking spot and a Fast Pass for the month of May! Together our volunteers took 22.25 HOURS of work off of our teacher's plates for the month of April so they could spend more time with their families. We're up to an amazing 161.25 hours given back to teachers for the school year so far! Thanks again to ALL of our volunteers for filling in the missing piece to our puzzle, we appreciate you!

NEWS FROM SPECIAL AREAS
BOGO Bookfair
As we prepare to transition to a new library cataloging system, we will be collecting all library materials by April 30. Starting April 20–24 through the remainder of the year, students will not check out any books so we can focus on getting all materials returned. This also means there will be no summer check out this year.
We appreciate your help in checking at home for any overdue books and returning them as soon as possible. Thank you for your support in helping us make this transition a smooth one!
Additionally, our Buy One, Get One Free Book Fair will take place May 4–8! Students must be in good standing with the library in order to shop, which means all library materials have been returned and any fees for lost or damaged books have been paid. Students will shop during their library time that week and can also come to our late night Thursday, May 7th from 6:15 - 8:00pm.
