I have the distinct pleasure of working with Ms. Morales for over seven years and I'm forever grateful to her for setting the standard and raising the bar on customer service.

Career Day was a remarkable success. Thanks to the more than 40 presenters from all fields and professions giving our scholars an opportunity to know more about prospective careers. Kudos to school counselors, Mrs. Castillo & Mr. Chavez and parent volunteers for their coordination of the event.

International DOT Day, Celebrated at Col. Ben Narbuth on Sept. 18th.

Origin of international dot day

International Dot Day began when Terry Shay introduced his class to Peter H Reynold's book The Dot on September 15, 2009. Since then, this date has been celebrated each year as International Dot Day — a day for classes to explore the story's powerful themes: bravery, creativity, and self-expression. Google

Remember to submit your child’s 2023-24 online meal application at www.sisd.net/meal-application as soon as possible. Visit www.sisd.net/article/1166210 to learn more. We are still missing 174 applications.

We will be offering a free dress pass for students still pending completion of their lunch applications. In addition, the grade level that gets to 100% completion with meal applications will receive a popcorn baggie. Thank you in advance for your support!

In celebration of birthdays, Please remember to send cupcakes, fruit drinks, and snacks by 7:45 a.m. We will not except deliveries after the tardy bell at 7:45 a.m. Thank you for your understanding.

What Matters is:

We have a committed effort to ensure better attendance and punctuality for all students. Expectation is that we need parents' support with bringing scholars to school before the 7:45 a.m. tardy bell. Scholars must be in their classroom by this time. Breakfast will be served until 7:40 a.m. to allow for daily instruction to begin.

Student tardies are a parent issue. I do ask for your support in getting our students in the building prior to 7:45 a.m. Please make sure to plan accordingly so that your child(ren) are not penalized with lunch detention. Three tardies constitutes detention. I remind students to assist at home by setting an alarm, having backpacks and other materials ready so they are not rushing in the morning. Allowing scholars ample time for breakfast in the classroom to help transition into daily learning.

Perfect Attendance Incentives:

Students who are in attendance from Monday through Fridays will have the chance to wear free dress on the proceeding Monday. Please adhere to our acceptable student dress code when wearing free dress. Other incentives will be available throughout the school year. No torn or frayed jeans are allowed at any time.

Early Pickups:

For Doctor's Appointments:

Pick up your children before 1:00 PM.

For PK & Kinder:

Scholars should be picked no later than 2:00 PM.

For 1st-5th Grade:

Scholars should be picked up no later than 2:30 PM.
