Reporting Absences

Is your child going to be absent? Late due to a doctor or dentist appointment?

Let us know! Call the main office line at (847) 824-1503 and leave a voicemail with your child's name and ID number.

Lock Down Drill

Chippewa's Lock Down Drill is scheduled for Tuesday, September 19th.

This important safety drill has students review and practice procedures in case of an intruder in the building.

Illinois state law requires that a law enforcement drill be conducted within the first 90 days of school, and the law enforcement must be present during the drill to supervise and provide feedback.

While we hope and pray we will never need to use these strategies, we always want to be prepared in case of emergencies.

An email/letter will be going home next week as a reminder. Should you not want your child to participate in this safety drill, please notify Mrs. Vissering via email by September 15th.

PARENT WARNING! - One Chip Challenge

Parents, a social media challenge is circulating that involves eating a spicy chip containing Carolina Reaper and Naga Viper Peppers without eating or drinking anything else.

These chips sell for about $10 for a single chip and can be bought at 7-Eleven, Walmart, and Target, to name a few.

The challenge is eating the chip, waiting as long as you can without drinking or eating, and posting your reaction on social media.

A 14-year-old boy from Massachusetts recently died after doing this challenge.

Please talk to your children about not doing this challenge and how it can medically affect them.

Learning Look In - K Builders Club

K Builders Club is a service club for students who want to give back to their community.

This week, the club made thank-you bags for first responders (Police, EMT, Fire, Doctors, Nurses, etc.) to show gratitude for their service to our community.

The club meets on the first two Tuesdays of each month. We'd love to have you join! See Ms. McAvoy for more information. mcavoyj@d62.org
