4-H in the Classroom
January has been all about project achievement and public speaking preparation! We are very excited to see what our 4th and 5th graders have prepared for the classroom presentations! Our South Jackson 5th graders explored electricity and simple circuits in December by making LED flashlights.
LEGO Robotics - Clover Creators
FIRST LEGO League team #62743 Clover Creators attended their Super-Regional at Grayson High School in Loganville on January 10th. Though they did not advance further they learned a lot and had tons of fun!
Cooking Club
For their January meeting our Cooking Club chefs visited the Renaissance period with a German apple cheese pie, Tudor Strawberry Tart, and Clarea of Water. Our February meeting will be a theme of African recipes.

Wildlife Judging
Sign-ups for Wildlife Judging are underway.
The contest schedule is a little different this year than it has been in the past. Junior competitors (4th – 8th grade) will compete at an area contest on April 17th at Wahsega 4-H Center. Senior (9th-12th grade) competitors will compete at the area contest and the state contest on May 4th at Rock Eagle. The area contests will not have the oral defense part of the competition.
The Jackson County team will practice on Thursdays starting February 12th at 4:30 PM at the 4-H Office.
Wildlife Judging is an incredible opportunity to learn about more than 20 species of wildlife native to Georgia, their habitat needs, and how to manage them. Competitors learn how to identify wildlife by sight, sound, tracks, and remains.
