Keeping Our School Community Healthy
As we see an increase in seasonal illnesses, please help us keep our school healthy by following the DCSD Attendance Guidelines when deciding whether to keep your child home.
Additionally, please notify the school office if your child is absent due to an illness. Reporting student illnesses helps our health team monitor trends and implement measures to keep our students healthy and learning in the classroom!
Bobcat Halloween Parade TOMORROW
Join Us for the Bobcat Halloween Parade! 🎃👻
We are excited to invite all families to join us for our Halloween Parade on Friday, October 30th! Parents/Guardians, we are asking you to please use good judgment, and adhere to the following guidlines when selecting a costume with your child:
Costumes: Students may put on their costumes starting at 2:30 PM for the remainder of the school day. Things your child may not wear: No full face masks or full face makeup, no gruesome or macabre costumes, no costumes that are demeaning to self or others, no promiscuous dress (age-appropriate costumes, please!), no weapons or items that could be considered a weapon (plastic knives, swords, spears, guns, etc.) and no accessories that may pose a risk to other students. Inappropriate costumes will be addressed and a student may be asked to alter their costume or stay in their school clothes. Thank you for helping us create and maintain a safe, fun and apprpriate environment for all of our students and families.
Parade Schedule:
3:20 PM: Preschool kicks off our parade
3:35 PM: Kindergarten

Week of November 9th Assembly Information
NED’s Mindset Mission Assembly is Monday
We are excited to host NED’s Mindset Mission on November 9th! This engaging character education program uses storytelling, magic, humor, and yo-yo tricks to teach students three important lifelong lessons:
Never give up
Encourage others
Do your best
Pay-It-Forward Yo-Yo Sale: Following the performance, students can "pay it forward" by purchasing yo-yos during their designated lunchtime from November 9th through November 13th. Look for an order form coming home with your student after the assembly!
25th Annual Veterans Day Celebration is Tuesday
Larkspur Elementary School is proud to announce that its 25th Annual Veterans Day Celebration will be held on Tuesday, November 10th, 2026 from 10-11am in the school gym. All veterans and active duty personnel are invited to join us, along with their families, as we honor their service at this beloved event. The event was first established by 2 former Larkspur teachers, Mrs. Ingram and Mrs. Eckert, who wished to educate our students about the importance of military service. The program will include guest speakers, the Larkspur Choir, and patriotic songs performed by our students in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 4th Grade. Representatives from the American Legion Harry C. Miller Post 118 will present a flag folding ceremony. After the assembly, veterans and active duty personnel are encouraged to stay for lunch with their families in the school library. The lunch is generously provided by our teachers, staff, and parent community. For more information on the event, please contact Sally Erickson, (303)-519-4251. We hope you will join us at Larkspur Elementary in honoring all those who have served, and continue to serve our country.
Donations for our Military Memorabilia Display Case
Our Veterans Day event is fast approaching on Tuesday, November 10th. As part of our celebration we will once again be decorating the front display case with military memorabilia. This is an engaging way to involve our students in this annual event. We would like to invite you to share family pictures, articles, uniforms, flags, medals, and other personal military items to include in this display. Any items can be dropped off at the office by Thursday, November 5, and should be clearly labeled with your student's name for ease of return a week after Veterans Day. Thank you for your support and we look forward to honoring all those who have served and continue to serve our country.
PACCT Updates
Please join us on Tuesday, November 10th, from 10-11am for our 25th Annual Veterans Day Celebration. All families are welcome and the program will include guest speakers, the Larkspur Choir, and patriotic songs performed by our students in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 4th Grade. After the assembly, veterans and active duty personnel are encouraged to stay for lunch with their families in the school library.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who made the Beastly Bash happen! It was a big success!
We had over 230 people in attendance, not including several community members, teachers, staff, and other volunteers. Special shout out to the Town of Larkspur and Larkspur Fire for running the haunted house and helping with set up and clean up!
PACCT brought in over $300.00 in revenue that will go towards Outdoor Enrichment activities for our students (including PINE Club, Garden Club, and funds we are raising for an outdoor classroom).
The culminating event at the bash was Principal Scott getting pied in the face! She came prepared and left smiling. We had a great time with all of the teachers and staff who showed up with games, trunks, and costumes!
There are still beastly Larkspur stickers available for $2 ea. Reach out to lespacct@gmail.com or any of the PACCT board members if you would like to snag one! If you have any comments that will help us run an even better event next year, please leave feedback in this form. Stay spooky!
The next PACCT meeting is Wednesday, November 4th, at 4pm. Feel free to bring your children, there will be supervision! Find out more here, join a subcommittee, or chat with us on Slack. Please reach out to us at lespacct@gmail.com with any questions, and make sure to follow us on Facebook!
