MTMS Wolf Wire
August 28, 2026
MT's purpose is to educate and empower students to become responsible citizens.
A Few Words From the Principal
We had a great week at MT. We are all starting to get to know each other and developing routines. Next week we start sports and FastBridge testing. More about both of these in this Wolf Wire.
To help your student be prepared to do their best, help them get to bed early and have a good breakfast. They will also need their computers charged and wired earbuds or headphones for testing. Results will be shared once testing is complete.
We are looking forward to next week at MT!

Student Expectations Before Games
A few reminders before our game days start. Students who opt to remain in the building after school to attend games will be supervised in the Commons until game time. Please bring something to do between the end of school and the start of the game. Any student who leaves the building after school must be accompanied by an adult when returning for a game.
FastBridge Testing
We will be taking the FastBridge Reading assessment on September 2nd and Math on September 9th. Testing will take place in the morning to allow for every student to be fresh and ready to do their best. All students will test at the same time with their WIN class first thing in the morning. We will be following the above testing bell schedule. We believe this change will give all of our students the opportunity to do their best work so that we can have accurate data for us to know how to support or extend each student.

Attendance Information
To ensure the safety of our students, please report all full-day absences (illness, etc.) and late arrivals due to morning appointments by 8:30 a.m. You may call the school attendance line at 913-422-5854 or use the online absence reporting form. The school will call to follow-up with unreported absences after 8:30. Students arriving tardy after 7:55 must enter through the front office doors (you are not required to escort late students inside, but if your student is late due to an appointment, please report it to the office so their attendance is appropriately marked or make sure they bring in an appointment note when they arrive).
Students are allowed ten (10) days of excused absences per school year without an accompanying doctor’s note. (This includes illness and “parent request” absences, which should be coordinated with the school in advance). Absences in excess of ten (10) without accompanying documentation will be considered unexcused. Missing a substantial portion of a day (three (3) or more class periods) shall be considered one "day."
You are not required to notify the office in advance if you will be checking a student out during the school day for an appointment. Please have your ID ready at the door, state your student's name and indicate you are checking them out, and complete the student check out inside and we will call your student from class at that time. Students will only be released to parent/guardians or emergency contacts listed in Skyward unless coordinated in advance with the school.
TSP Begins September 8th
Crochet & Needlepoint Club Starts September 16th
Visiting the School
A reminder that it is district policy that all adults requesting entry into the building are required to present their ID to the door camera before being granted entry to the building. Thank you for having your ID ready when you ring the bell!
