It's time for our Spring Flower Sale! Once again our PTO is teaming up with Foertmeyer & Sons Greenhouse to help raise funds for playground/school improvements, school programs/events and start saving for a future marquee ! Their plants and baskets are high quality and beautiful and will make a great gift for Mother's Day! Don't forget about the great prizes your students can earn!

Parent/Teacher Conferences are just around the corner. Conferences will be on March 2nd and March 7th. They will be held virtually through a Google Meet. Please make sure you fill out the conference time request form and return it to your child's teacher.

In honor of Read Across America, Pickerington Elementary School will celebrate with "Dress as a Book Character" Day on Friday, March 3rd! Students may dress up as favorite book characters. Costumes must be appropriate for school.

The Panorama window is March 6-17 for our spring SEL survey administration to third and fourth grade students. The survey will provide us with social and emotional learning information. the feedback from your child will provide invaluable insights into their experiences and how to improve and adapt our district to their needs. As certain sicknesses start to show up within your household such as the flu, strep, or covid, please contact our nurse, melanie_thompson@plsd.us, to report the diagnosed illness. This will help in determining the return to school date. Thank you!

As we continue to make great academic progress here at Pickerington Elementary we want to ensure that students continue their learning at home...but how much is too much? In order to prevent "iReady burnout", we would like to refocus are at-home iready usage to those student who have not yet reached their 40-50 minutes per week in both math and reading. Anytime spent on their Iready Personalized Learning Path can cause burnout and have a negative effect on their learning. Students should not be spending more than 50 minutes on their personalized learning. We still want your students to engage in learning and here are some other helpful ideas for your family.

• Read or listen to a book
• work on some math facts, flash cards, or have your child teach you a game they play at school
• iReady learning games - Math
• play a board game
