PRINCIPAL GREETING PRINCIPAL GREETING

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Next week, our juniors will begin the NJGPA, which is a graduation requirement. The schedule for Monday-Thursday has minimal impact on student schedules. Students will report to their A or B day classes and most juniors will test in English or PE/Health.

Please remind your students of the following:

All students: Report directly to your 1st period class. There is no homeroom.

For students not testing:

Please be quiet and respectful in the halls during all periods as testing will occur while others are in class.

For students who are testing:

- come to school with a charged Chromebook

- eat breakfast.

- do your best

- review the slideshow shared with you in homeroom today by the counselors and reach out to your counselor with any questions (link is below).

Thank you for all you do!

Dr. McCann

Senior Trip will be here before we know it! This year’s trip to Disney World costs about $2000. In order to help lighten the load of the scheduled payments beginning next September, we are allowing you the opportunity to make pre-payments now through August 2026. Pre-payments in any amount can be made at any time via cash, check (payable to “NBC Class of 2027”), or now credit card and will go towards your trip balance. Any pre-payments will come off your final scheduled payments next year. If you make pre-payments and your student decides not to go, we can give you a full refund in September. If your student

Local Food Resources for New Jersey Families Local Food Resources for New Jersey Families

SFAs may be experiencing increased calls from families concerned about the potential loss of SNAP benefits on November 1st. Please note the New Jersey Basic Needs Information Hub offers a comprehensive listing of websites that can assist households in locating a local food pantry or soup kitchen. Families may also choose to access the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, Food Bank of South Jersey, Fulfill, Norwescap, and Mercer Street Friends websites directly to search for local food resources.

Thank you for providing these important resources to families at this time, and for your unwavering work to ensure New Jersey students receive healthy, nutritious meals every day.

Clinical Corner Clinical Corner

In reading Brene Brown’s book, Atlas of the Heart, I felt compelled to share her research about a few of the eighty-seven emotions and experiences she covers. She explains that some are not emotions but experiences that lead to emotions. In the next few Clinical Corners. I hope to expand your emotional vocabulary as I learn along with you. The ability to label our emotions is related to greater emotion regulation and psychosocial well-being. It’s moving away from “What’s wrong with me?” to “Oh, I am feeling _____.” The ability to articulate our emotions leads to deeper connection, with our families, friends, students-everyone.
