We made it to the final week of April, and the first week of May! Time is flying Panthers - let's get up-to-date on what's going on this week in the QCSD! Summer will be here before we know it, but first PSSA Testing continues, Mary Poppins is coming, and let's get ready for

Teacher Appreciation Week!

This week, PSSA testing continues with Mathematics and Science. The dates of those tests (and make-up periods) can be found below:

Science (Gr. 4)

April 30 - May 1 (Makeups: May 5-9)

As you prepare for another week of testing, please keep the following list in mind:

• Get a good night’s rest each night

• Eat a nutritious breakfast each morning

• Arrive on time each day

• Bring in a water bottle

• Due to food allergies and the need to keep food away from the computers, there are no snacks during the test sessions. If students bring in a special snack as a PSSA motivator, that snack will be eaten during their lunchtime. As per the classroom rules, nothing should be messy or sticky. (Some suggestions are pretzels, crackers, carrots, grapes, or string cheese.)

The future is calling! Are you ready? Take advantage of the opportunities available in the Future Readiness Center:

1. Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) - April 29th – Become an officer in the military while also completing a college degree at the same time! This is a great way to have college paid for while also serving your country. Air Force Captain Klinger will present information on April 29th at 9:00AM in B113. 2. Play College Level Sports (NCAA recruiting and qualifying) - May 6th – Are you considering playing college level sports. There are recruiting rules and a process to qualify. Meet with Taryn Gall of Lehigh University for a general over view of how this process works on May 6th in the QPAC at 7:15AM. Use this LINK to sign up. (Applicable for 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students)

The smell of rain, fresh flowers, and the breeze—it’s springtime in Quakertown. And that means the arts have come to life in our schools. Thanks to the unwavering dedication of our students, professors, staff, parents, and volunteers, our students will perform a range of vocal, instrumental, and theatrical pieces throughout the next two months.
