RMS Monday Message

The 1st Month of the New Year is down and the school year is flying by!

Last week was School Counselor Week and we want to give a shout-out to our three Counselors at RMS: Ms. DeSimone, Ms. Virgadamo, and Ms. Patterson! We are very lucky to have three individuals who are so dedicated to the students at RMS as we do!

Some reminders on arrival and dismissal. We thank you for your cooperation during these busy times at our school!

1. At arrival, please pull up as far as you can to let your student(s) out, as this does help alleviate traffic on Mattaewan Road. If you or your student need additional time, we ask that you pull into a parking spot in the lot and take the time that you need.

2. At dismissal in the Kiosk Lot, please do not park along the right side of the drive through area while waiting for your student(s). When you arrive to pick up your student(s), please pull and park in a parking spot in the lot. Note that students should not be getting picked up in the Bus Loop Lot.

1. Kaleidoscope Club will meet 2/21 after school in C129 with Ms. Assumma.

2. There will be a yearbook meeting on February 15th in B229 until 3:30. All are welcome. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Holliday.

3. There will be an 8th Grade Class Meeting on 2/22 in B220 until 3:30.

Just a reminder for Mrs. Lynch & Ms. Koren's 7th grade parent/guardians to PLEASE send in all Edible Cell Activity supplies by Tuesday February 13th. The Edible Cell Activity is planned for Wednesday February 14th.

If parents/guardians still want to donate and there aren't any supplies left to sign up for, please feel free to send in bags of pretzels and/or animal crackers, boxes of tissues, and glue sticks/tape for students. Last but not least, a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone that contributed, we couldn't do this without our amazing RMS families!!!

Our class did a Moon Phase Project using Oreo cookies! The students created each moon phase with an Oreo and got to eat it when done!

Congratulations Zora Nicholls and Joey Zezza for their accomplishments in the Regional Scholastic Art competition. They received awards at the SUNY New Paltz ceremony on Friday and will have their work displayed in the fine arts building. Keep up the great work!!

Our Winter Modified Sports Season has completed. We are now looking forward to our Spring Season! More info will be announced as we get closer.

This past weekend was the Beacon Players Younger Company production of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown!" We wanted to give a shoutout to the students below who put on a great performance. We are proud of you and all of your hard work!

The Harlem Wizards are coming on Friday February 16th! Join us as we cheer Mr Soltish, Mr. Carofano, Ms. Modica, Ms. Oriani, Mr. Alzate, Ms Alzate, Ms. Briehof, Dr. Landahl, and many other BCSD staff as they play against the Wizards in a crazy basketball game filled with silly antics and trick hoops. This is a fundraising event for RMS PTO, BHS PTSO, and the National Honor Society and directly benefits the students of RMS. We need volunteers for the event to run smoothly and donations for our concession stand. Please check out our Wizards Game sign up list here.
