Thank You!
Thank You #1: A big thank you to all our families for putting up with the automated messages about the application for educational benefits. We know it can be a little annoying, but completing the application helps both your family and our school access important services. Our last reminder will go out on October 9th. Thank you for your support!
Thank You #2: A big thank you to our sixth grade families for you responses to our middle school transition survey. When we surveyed families, and only six percent of respondents shared that their child is still feeling anxious or lonely. Those students have connected with our counseling staff for extra support. The rest of our families shared encouraging news:
- “My child is excited, connecting well, and we feel confident.” (63%)
- “My child is doing okay—some nerves, but overall positive.” (31%)
Thank you for helping us make our newest students feel welcomed, connected, and ready to learn. Your feedback makes a difference.
We Did It!
North View Middle School was one of seven schools in Osseo Area Schools to earn a prestigious state award for their work with PBIS, which stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. North View Middle School was honored for creating a positive, welcoming environment where students, staff, and families can thrive. As an exemplar school, we were recognized for supporting student success not only in behavior, but also in academics, relationship building, and mental health.
In Case You Missed It: Community Building
September at North View Middle School was full of excitement and opportunities for building relationships. We believe learning thrives on strong connections, so we’re fostering fun, engagement, and trust! To help 6th graders settle in, they participated in Web Day, led by counselors, advisors, and 8th-grade Web Leaders. Advisories and classrooms have also hosted community-building activities like Circles, grade-level assemblies, Human Bingo, and of course learning!
Assembly
We held assemblies to celebrate and strengthen our school culture. At each assembly, students reviewed expectations, enjoyed fun activities, and celebrated classmates recognized for positive behavior. It was a great way to build community and kick off the year with school spirit!
Human Bingo
Constitution Day
For Constitution Day, our 7th graders became “history detectives”! They explored the Constitution, talked about what rights it protects, and shared which new rights they think should be added today, like food, housing, and clean water. Their colorful ideas are now on display in the hallway, showing that their voices matter in shaping the future.
Upcoming Events
We have a few upcoming events at our middle school. There’s something for everyone to take part in and enjoy. We hope to see you soon!
October Conferences
Thank you to everyone for attending our planning conferences in August. Our goal was to allow you to meet the staff, see the school, and receive an overview of class expectations and the year's curriculum. Coming up next for you is our first trimester conferences. This year we will be providing families with two in-person conference experiences. Our in-person conferencing experience will be held on Tuesday, October 14th, and Thursday, October 23rd from 3:00-7:00 pm.
During this time you will be able to:
Meet each of your child's teachers.
Review classroom objectives and goals.
Discuss how your child is progressing in class.
If you are unable to attend or would like to view your child's progress ahead of time, please login into Schoology or ParentVue.
Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration
Join the district for the Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration on Friday, October 10th at Park Center Sr. High! Students and staff will honor the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities through food, live performances, and community resources. It’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our diversity and each other. RSVP by clicking here.

Reading is fun 5K!
Relationships, Restoratives & Readiness
September is a crucial month for laying the groundwork for a successful school year. We're dedicated to teaching and reinforcing expectations while actively building strong relationships among students and staff.
To kick things off, all students completed their Code of Conduct, which reviews key points from our student handbook and our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) matrix above. You can review the specific forms and videos used for this year's training here.
Throughout September and early October, we'll reinforce these expectations through engaging PBIS grade-level assemblies. Students will or have participated in fun challenges on September 19th, September 23rd, and October 14th. These activities aren't just about reviewing rules; they're designed to help students connect and team with one another and their educators, further strengthening our supportive school community.
This month's focus was on "Be Ready," and that absolutely includes being on time! Getting to class promptly is fundamental to student success. To help everyone make the most of their learning time, we're offering practical support like limited passes and escorts if needed. We know life happens, and our main goal is always to help every student succeed.
We'll keep you in the loop! If a student racks up more than five tardies in a week (that's about one a day), parents/guardians will get a notification on Fridays. This helps us partner with you quickly to address any patterns and offer the best support.
