Hi Mustang Families!

If you happened to be dropping off your student at school on Friday, you might have seen a crowd at the front of the school enjoying the performance of the Mustang Jazz Ensemble led by band director Mr. Squibb! It was a great way to start the day on a positive note! They played "Never Gonna Give You Up", "Worksong", "Alley Cat Struttin’", and "Uptown Funk." Be sure to catch their Fall Concert this Wednesday.

And don't miss the Festival of the Arts in downtown Vista. Madison will be well represented by all of our arts programs: wood shop, 3D art, choir, band, and drama!

As we approach the end of the first quarter, this is a great time to reflect on how much your student has grown. There are several ways you can continue to support your student. You can check their backpack, notebooks, and their new planner. Ask them what they are learning about in each class. Encourage them to attend before- or after-school tutoring (see schedule below), and monitor their progress in Canvas and Aeries. Most importantly, thank you for reinforcing our core values of respect, responsibility, and kindness in their relationships. As your student practices these three R’s, it not only supports their growth but also has a positive impact on our campus and the entire school community.

Have a great week!
