Cyndi Weatherford is the incoming Helen Tyson Middle School assistant principal.
"I would like to thank Dr. Cleveland, our district admin team, our school board , and the HTMS team for the honor and opportunity to be a part of the HTMS family." Weatherford said. "I am genuinely excited about the journey ahead and eager to contribute my utmost to the success of our students, teachers, and the HTMS school community."
Weatherford has been an educator for 22 years. In Springdale, she has been a 3rd grade teacher at George Elementary, an Instructional Facilitator at Southwest Jr High and, most recently, was an Instructional Facilitator at Har-Ber High School.
Dr. Jared Cleveland, Springdale Public Schools superintendent, said that Weatherford would make an immediate positive impact on Helen Tyson Middle School.
"She is an amazing bilingual educator with a heart for all children and families." Cleveland said.
Patrick Scott, Helen Tyson Middle School principal, believes Weatherford will continue the culture of achievement and growth.
"We are excited to welcome Mrs. Weatherford to the Helen Tyson Middle School family! Her enthusiasm and passion to serve will continue the tradition of HTMS being a place where students realize their potential and become successful." Scott said.
Weatherford earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Henderson State University, a Masters of Arts in Advanced Instructional Studies for English as a Second Language Learners, Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership. She also holds Certification in Bilingual Education from Texas A&M International University and is a National Board Certified Teacher 2010 (Early & Middle Childhood Literacy and Language Arts).
Weatherford looks forward to building strong relationships, empowering teacher-leaders, fostering a culture of acceptance, celebrating students, and connecting with families to create a unified school community reflective of our #SpringdaleFamily.
Weatherford has a husband, Jason, a son, Chase, who just graduated from the University of Arkansas in May, and a daughter, Jayci, who will be a senior at HBHS and plays basketball for the Lady Wildcats.
In their free time they enjoy attending sporting events, cheering on the Razorbacks and spending summer days on the lake.
