Conferences
Hello, O'Malley families! As conferences approach, I'm sure there is some excitement to see student work and ask questions of our fabulous teacher teams. We are looking forward to hosting you and our schedules are open for the days of the 28th and 29th of October from 12:15pm to 6:15pm.
In order to accommodate all our families, our meetings will only be 15 minutes long. Therefore, it is a good idea to think about the questions you want to ask before arriving at the conference. What is most important to you? What is your student enjoying and what might be causing them concern? Our teachers want to see your students succeed and are working hard to come prepared with important information concerning your child's work in class. With this in mind, if you know that there are things you want to discuss that could exceed the time scheduled, I encourage you to reach out with an email that outlines your concerns and ask if a longer meeting could or should be arranged.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns, and thank you for your partnership in making the O'Malley community safe, kind, and responsible.

Unsung heros
I want to give a big shoutout to our para educators. Three of the four are brand new. They manage lunch rooms, monitor recess, and help in the classroom. Their jobs are exhausting - and often thankless. I am so appreciative of our team: Ms. Julie and Ms. Andrea in resource, Ms. Alexa in French Kindy, and Ms. Cass in English partner Kindy.
Thank you ladies for all the work you do to help make things run smoothly. A lot is asked of you and you are rising to the occasion beautifully.
π Important Dates and Resources
Below are a few important dates, reminders, and links to help us all be on the same page!
Reminders:
- Cold weather and COLDS: Please make sure students are arriving with coats, hats, gloves, etc. Our "Lost and found" is quickly accumulating coats, etc, so please feel free to take a look :) Also, as cold/flu season is here, please remind students to wash their hands often and refrain from sharing food.
- SAEBRs
This year our teachers will be completing a universal social-emotional behavior screener (SAEBRS). Important information we want to share in partnership with all families.
This screener will take place 3 times a year (Fall, Winter, Spring).
The teacher rating will be completed outside of class time and will not disrupt learning.
This screener will help our teachers strengthen classroom structures and the school meet studentsβ social, emotional and behavioral needs.
Please check in with the principal if you have further questions or would like more information. You may also find additional information on our ASDβs website.
