Parent Pocket - October 23

Thank you to all the families who came out to support Gibson’s Dine to Donate fundraiser! We’re so grateful for your support and loved seeing our school community come together. We look forward to many more delicious collaborations!

This week our English Language Learning Families came together in the Westwood library to learn about some useful tools. PowerSchool and Class Dojo are key websites and Applications that help families communicate with teachers and staff. As well as monitoring attendance and grades throughout the year. Also, they discussed ACCESS Testing for those leaning English.

Earlier in October the Westwood Middle School 7th grades were able to take a trip to Chatham to learn about different careers. Animal husbandry, US Army, Cosmetology, Emergency Disaster Services, and so many more opportunities were presented to DPS children from every school's 7th grade.

Each month, students who are recognized for their positive behavior are entered into a drawing to become Woodberry’s Student of the Month for their grade. We are proud to celebrate our six September winners!

Students in Yearbook reached out to local businesses for support through the purchase of business ads. Making sales calls can be intimidating, but the yearbook staff knows how to support each other!
