Welcome back, Whitman Middle School families! We are absolutely thrilled to start the new school year with you on Wednesday, September 2!

To give our incoming 6th graders the special welcome they deserve, we've planned a wonderful morning designed just for them. Please note that only 6th grade students should arrive for the morning session—our 7th and 8th graders will join us after lunch for an exciting afternoon together.

We understand that some families rely on school bus transportation, and accommodations will be made for students who need them.

Please review the schedule below carefully, and remember that the first day is not an early dismissal. We can't wait to see everyone!

Special Bell Schedule

First Day of School – Wednesday, September 2

Morning – 6th Grade Only

• 8:55 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. | 6th Grade Welcoming Activities
  We are excited to welcome our incoming 6th graders with a great morning of activities!

Midday Transition

• 12:15 p.m. – 12:45 p.m. | 6th Grade Lunch
• 12:30 p.m. | 7th and 8th Grade Students Arrive
  Current 7th and 8th grade students should gather in the cafeteria at 12:30 p.m.

*Please note: The first day of school is not an early dismissal day.

Start of School Forms for the School Year 2026-27 will be handed out at the beginning of the school year to be completed and returned.

• Grade 6: Start of School Forms will be provided on Welcome Night August 27, 2026.

• Grades 7 & 8: Start of School Forms will be provided during the first week of school.

Please return any applicable forms by September 30, 2026.

Whitman's WEB Leaders (8th graders trained to help your student transition into middle school on the first day and throughout the year) are so excited to meet your 6th grader and spend time with them during Orientation on September 2nd!

Your student will receive a call from their very own WEB Leader the week before school starts to invite them to Orientation and answer any questions they might have.
