April 2026
Message from the Directors
Over the past month at DCSD Legacy Campus, we’ve seen our students bring together so much of what they’ve been learning all year—applying their knowledge through hands-on projects, presentations, and real-world experiences that truly reflect our mission of connecting passion to pathway. Events like the Career & Hiring Fair showcased this growth in action, as students demonstrated the career readiness, professionalism, and communication skills they’ve been developing while networking with industry partners and participating in interviews.
We also want to wish the best of luck to our students competing at state through FCCLA and SkillsUSA, as well as those presenting their ACE Mentor Program architecture projects. Congratulations as well to our Apple Awards representatives, Mr. Mike Shallenberger (Robotics/Building Controls) and Mr. Dan Wrona (Lead Security). As we look ahead to final exhibitions, capstone presentations, and end-of-year celebrations, we’re excited to continue showcasing this learning and finish the year strong together.

Legacy Campus Spotlight
ProStart Team Wins Hospitality Cup
We are beyond proud that ProStart Culinary students won the Hospitality Cup at our State Competition!
This achievement is the direct result of your hard work, dedication, and the countless hours spent practicing, refining, adjusting, and pushing yourselves to improve. Success at this level does not happen by accident. It comes from Saturday morning practices, after school practices, repeated run-throughs, constructive feedback, teamwork, and the commitment to excellence that each of you demonstrated.
What makes this victory even more meaningful is not just the trophy, but the journey. You built trust in one another. You learned how to communicate under pressure. You supported each other when things didn’t go perfectly. The bonds formed through this process are the kind of friendships and professional relationships that last a lifetime.
To our families — thank you for the rides, the schedule adjustments, the encouragement, and the support behind the scenes. Your investment in these students makes moments like this possible.
To our team — you have officially put Legacy Campus on the map. Other programs will now know our name and understand the standard of excellence we represent. You carried yourselves with professionalism, skill, and pride, and you represented our campus at the highest level.
Career Fair
We had a very successful Career & Hiring Fair on March 27th. Several students were interviewed for internships and job shadows, a few were already notified that they have been accepted! Many got information to apply for summer jobs and future career options as well. We are grateful for our over 50 vendors that spent the morning with us, sharing these great opportunities with our students!
Scholarship Recipient
Jakob Zosel, who is a first year Aviation Pathway student, was awarded a $12,000 scholarship from the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). This was a very competitive scholarship with only 90 awarded nationally! Congratulations Jakob!
City of Lone Tree
We are grateful to be spotlighted in the most recently published issue of Timberlines by the City of Lone Tree.
We love being a part of the Lone Tree community!

Spacecraft Launch TODAY!
Hello Students and Parents,
My name is Stephen Morgan, and I am the Advanced Manufacturing Aerospace instructor at Legacy Campus. I wanted to share an incredible opportunity happening today that connects directly to what we’ll be exploring in this program.
The Artemis II space mission is scheduled to launch tomorrow afternoon from Cape Canaveral, Florida (pending weather and technical readiness). This mission is especially meaningful for us here in Colorado—the Orion spacecraft being used was built right here at the Lockheed Martin facility in Littleton. Artemis II will carry four astronauts on a historic journey around the Moon and safely back to Earth. This will be the first time humans will travel back to the Moon since NASA’s Apollo 17 mission in December 1972.
This is an exciting moment in space history, and I encourage you to tune in and experience it if you can. It’s a powerful reminder of the real-world impact and opportunities within the field we’ll be studying.
The planned launch date for NASA's Artemis II mission is scheduled for April 1, 2026, at 6:24 p.m. EDT Watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1RcFQ0gS4E
