TOP HEADLINES
The first Black History Week was celebrated in 1926. To mark the 100-year legacy of honoring Black history, culture, and achievements, the theme for the 2026 celebration is, “A Century of Black History Commemorations.” This theme also underscores the continued importance of acknowledging and celebrating the enduring impact of African Americans throughout our nation’s history. The CVUSD invites the whole Conejo community to recognize and celebrate the hard work of our counselors and the deep dedication they have for our students, schools, and community. Their work indeed “amplifies student success” each and every day, which is the 2026 National School Counseling Week theme.
Please join us in showing appreciation for our School Counselors’ invaluable contributions all year through and especially this National School Counseling Week! Click here to learn more.
The school cafeteria menus for February are available on the My School Menus website!
📍 Important Reminder: School meals (breakfast and lunch) are available at NO COST for all students.
Student Experience Spotlight: STAND PROUD Grows 5th Grade Leadership & Community
Solving problems and working as a team is at the heart of the STAND PROUD program created by Fulcrum that our CVUSD fifth grade students have the opportunity to participate in. This annual program is two-fold, with students completing on-site field days at their schools and an off-site Ropes Course and activities in Malibu. It's a core-memory building experience for students as they (literally) climb to new heights, practice kindness, challenge themselves and support one another to gain leadership and team-building skills. Responsible Decision-Making, Social Emotional Learning, and Relationship Skills are also some of the components that are covered through this program.
We're so proud of our students for growing confidence, trying new things and cheering each other on every step of the way!

EVENTS THIS WEEK
Note: The majority of CVUSD’s students attend their assigned neighborhood school via the Neighborhood School Enrollment process.

📍 Submitting a School Choice Application for the 2026-2027 School Year:
For families who would like to enroll their student in a CVUSD school other than their assigned neighborhood school, this may be completed via the School Choice Application process.
- For the 2026-2027 school year, School Choice Applications that are submitted between Monday, November 3, 2025 at 8:00am and Monday, February 2, 2026 at 11:59pm will be considered “on-time” and included in the lottery process.
- 💡 Important: All *new* CVUSD students must first enroll at their assigned neighborhood school via the Online Pre-Enrollment Form before submitting a School Choice Application.
- The School Choice Application for the 2026-2027 School Year is available to complete online here.

📍 Submitting an Interdistrict Transfer Form for the 2026-2027 School Year:
If a family resides outside of CVUSD’s boundaries, but would like to attend a CVUSD school, an Interdistrict Transfer Form must be completed. Families must complete an Interdistrict Transfer Form and submit it to their assigned, “home” school district. Interdistrict Transfer Forms should be submitted to CVUSD during the priority period (Monday, November 3, 2025 at 8am - Monday, February 2, 2026 at 11:59pm). Enrollment is contingent on release from your district of residence. Additional information about the Interdistrict Transfer process is available online here.
Please join CVUSD’s BreakThrough Student Assistance Program and the Conejo Schools Foundation for a workshop presented in Spanish by Angeles Small on Monday, February 2, from 6:00–7:30 PM. This FREE virtual event will focus on understanding the stigma surrounding mental health within Latino families and explore ways to better support our students.
This workshop is designed to empower parents with knowledge, confidence, and culturally responsive tools to support their children’s emotional health, resilience, and overall success.

The Parent Outreach Program invites CVUSD parents and guardians to a special presentation designed to help families ensure technology supports learning without becoming an addiction. By finding this balance, we can ignite passion, curiosity, and a true love for learning at home. Join us to learn how to inspire your children to reach their full academic potential with energy and enthusiasm.
This free event will be presented in Spanish and take place on Saturday, February 7th from 8:30 am to 10:30am at Acacia Magnet School (55 Norman Ave., Thousand Oaks). Please click here to register for the event.
