Dear CJHS Community,

Congratulations to our CJHS Bobcat Basketball Teams! They completed their season with their tournament this past weekend.

End of the 4th 6 weeks

This week is the last week of the 4th grading period. I know that many students and members of our community have had the flu, or strep, or seasonal cold & allergies. As a reminder, students are allowed one day per day absent to complete missing work. This can become tricky at the end of the 6 weeks. Let us know if you have any questions!

CJHS Band students participated in the UIL Solo & Ensemble contest at Palo Duro on Friday 2/7!

Seven solos received a 1 rating:

Two Ensemble Groups received a 1 rating as well!

Mallet Trio: Alysia Rodriguez, Jayden Hall, and Alexia Grant

Percussion Ensemble: Avian Lizama, Lillie Medley, Kendalynn Wheeler, Cooper Herbstritt, and Athena Stingel

Congratulations to all of our students who participated and Ms. Cinthina Duran for all of their hard work and participation!

Finally, we have finalized the date for the Spring Concert. It will be Thursday May 8th at the CJHS Auditorium beginning at 6:00pm. It has been added to the date on the list below as well!

GT Corner

GT students in Mrs. Churchill's GT class shared their passions with one another. From baseball to crochet, from hunting to autoimmune deficiencies. We learned what we loved and why we are passionate about these things.

Counselor Connection

Our CJHS students have been participating in the Great Kindness Challenge. One teacher shared with me that a student had created this rose for her at home and brought it to her. It is absolutely beautiful and a wonderful example of what true kindness and creativity can produce when we encourage our kids to think of others. I love the signs they posted around school and I have seen students going out of their way to smile and say kind things to others. You should be proud of your kids!

More than anything this week I want to thank our students and staff for uplifting me so much for National School Counseling Week. I received so many personal messages from our students and they were exactly what I needed to fill my cup during this specific moment of time in my life. I can’t express what their words, hugs, and smiles mean to me. Thank you for raising wonderful people.
