Hello SBA Families! It is February, and we are almost halfway through our 3rd Quarter of learning together. It's great to see our students and staff "show up" each day to learn and grow. Your SBA staff is working hard to make a difference!

One of our School Improvement Goals is focused on increasing our daily attendance percentage. We are not quite to our goal of 95% attendance, but we can do it. We appreciate your support in getting your child(ren) to school on time each day. You can see how our school and each grade level is doing below. Great job to all of our students who had perfect attendance during 2nd Quarter and perfect attendance for the year so far!

Just a reminder that there will be no school on Monday, March 2nd due to the teacher work day our Winter Parent Teacher Conferences. We will start the scheduling process for conferences now. You will receive a conference preference time for home in your child(ren)'s Friday folder this Friday (Feb. 6th). Please complete the form and return it to school on Monday, Feb. 9th. After our staff schedules conferences, you will receive your conference time on Friday, Feb. 20th. Conferences will be held on Feb. 26th (3:30 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.) and Monday, March 2nd (12:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.). There will be opportunities for parents to volunteer and support our PTO during conferences. You can find more information and links to sign up in the PTO Notes below.

• Family Night @ The Kirby Science Center in the Washington Pavilion: On Thursday, Feb. 12th our PTO will be hosting a Family Night at the Kirby Science Center in the Washington Pavilion. The Washington Pavilion is located at 301 S Main Avenue in downtown Sioux Falls. All SBA Families will receive FREE ADMITTANCE from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Your family can interact with all of the fun exhibits and attend a show in the Cinedome! We look forward to this fun night together!
• Conference Meal for Teachers ~ Feb. 26th: The SBA PTO will be providing our teachers a meal prior to conferences on Thursday, Feb. 26th. We will have the main course of the meal catered, but we are looking for donations of desserts and beverages. You can sign up to donate goodies here: Feb. 26th Conference Meal Donations
• Book Fair ~ Feb. 26th & March 2nd: Volunteers are needed to help with the Book Fair during our upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences. • FAB FRIDAY Planning has started! To be a success we will need many volunteers. Please mark your calendars for Friday, May 15th! More information to come!
