HV Update 2-13-26

We have made it to the 100th Day of School! The kindergartners had a great time celebrating this milestone. Author Michele Knudsen visited HV this week and met with all grade levels. Thank you to Mrs. Munro for organizing this event and the HSA for sponsoring. The KISS Dance will take place this evening in the gym. Please enter through the rear doors of the school if you are attending.

As a reminder, school will be closed on Monday, February 16th. We will see you back at HV on Tuesday. Next week, HV will be recognizing Random Acts of Kindness Week. Our counselor, Ms. Steinberg, has many activities planned and we will also have a Spirit Week. Daily themes can be found below.

Thank you once again to Mr. Belardo, parents, and students for a successful Science Fair!

Thank you to Mrs. Munro and the HSA for sponsoring visiting author, Michele Knudsen! The students enjoyed the presentations and learning about her writing process.

Dr. Sarah Allen will be visiting Hillview on March 12th to discuss her book, Brainy Tales. Written by a pediatric neuropsychologist and her husband, this book teaches about the parts of the brain, specifically those that are essential for managing emotions and behavior and learning! Based in a school setting (Central Nervous System School), we follow Amy G (the amygdala or emotion center of the brain) as she introduces her friends. This book gives a fun, easy to remember way to get to know your brain! Dr. Allen will give a brief presentation that introduces her book and discuss coping strategies for managing common emotions that all children face during their elementary years. Families of students currently in Grades 5-11 who are interested in participating in activities or sports at PV or PTHS next year will need to complete this interest survey for each interested student. The district is moving to a new registration platform and your help in creating a list of students interested in fall sports and activities at PV and PTHS should make that transition go much more smoothly.
