๐Ÿ† Lady Bucs Bring Home the Championship! ๐Ÿ†

The University High Lady Bucs soccer team brought home the championship in their bracket at the Smoky Mountain Cup this weekend, competing against a strong field that included two AAA schools and one AA school.

University High opened tournament play Friday with a 2-1 victory over Giles County (AA). The Lady Bucs followed that with an impressive 4-0 win over Munford (AAA) on Saturday morning before closing out the weekend with a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Centennial (AAA).

The 2-0-1 tournament record was enough to claim the bracket trophy and improve the Lady Bucsโ€™ season record to 6-0-1. UH remains undefeated as the team heads into another busy week of action.

The Lady Bucs return to the field this week for a pair of non-conference matchups against AA opponents, traveling to Elizabethton on Tuesday and Volunteer on Thursday.

Congratulations, Lady Bucs! Keep it rolling! ๐Ÿ’›โšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

Quarter 1 Benchmark Testing

Testing Dates:
Grades 3-6 - September 3-9
Grades 7-8 and HS - September 4-10

Students in Grades 3-8 and HS EOC Classes will complete Quarter 1 benchmark testing beginning on September 3rd. Benchmarks are rigorous, standards aligned assessments that provide teachers with a projection of your childโ€™s performance on the Spring TCAP. While the ELA Part II Essay may be used for a graded assignment, all other benchmarks do not count in a student's grades. However, to provide parents with insight on their childโ€™s performance, there will be two scores provided to families. An explanation of these scores is listed below. Should you have further questions, please reach out to your childโ€™s teacher.

Percent Correct - This score is available once your child completes the benchmark and will be entered into PowerSchool. Except for ELA Part II Essays, the score will not be included in final grade calculations. The percent correct is simply a calculation based on the number of questions your student answered correctly. A lower percent correct could be indicative of standards that have not yet been taught, question types that are particularly challenging, or areas for student improvement.

Individual Student Reports - These score reports will be available after the testing window for Washington County closes. Due to differences in administration dates, ISRs are estimated to be available in late October. Information will be shared in the weekly newsletter prior to these being sent home. ISR reports contain an explanation of how your student scored on questions based on the level of difficulty, performance per standard, as well as their projected proficiency.
