Family Newsletter week of 9/8/25

Greetings Park Families,

We are now in our first full week of school and things are going very well. Students should be settled into their routines and adjusting to their return back to school. Please make sure you are checking their bookbags as teachers are beginning to send home homework in some classes. We will continue to keep you updated with the bi-weekly newsletter and post them on the website.

Saludos, familias de Park,

Estamos en nuestra primera semana completa de clases y todo va muy bien. Los estudiantes ya se han adaptado a sus rutinas y se están adaptando a su regreso a clases. Por favor, asegúrense de revisar sus mochilas, ya que los maestros están empezando a enviar tareas a casa en algunas clases. Pilot Program

Richardson Park has been selected to participate in a pilot program for phonics instruction for grades K-2. Students will be receiving a double dose of phonics based instruction to help accelerate their reading levels. We are excited for our students as we are the only school in the district using the national model. We look forward to getting great results for our students as it relates to them learning how to read.

Richardson Park ha sido seleccionado para participar en un programa piloto de instrucción fonética para los grados K-2. Car Lines

If you are dropping you students off or picking your student up you must use the car lines. The car lines go through Banning Park. You will turn right into the entrance of the Park and go through the round about. Our Staff at Richardson Park will direct you on when and where to go. We have an efficient and smooth process that when everyone follows the procedures we move through quickly. When picking up or dropping off, please do not get out of the car. We have staff that will make sure the students enter the building and get to class safely. Please adhere to the arrival and departure rules. A failure to do so can cause you to lose your privileges on our campus. We appreciate your support with this. Filas para Autos

Si va a dejar o recoger a sus estudiantes, debe usar las filas para autos. Estas filas pasan por el Parque Banning. Gire a la derecha en la entrada del parque y pase por la rotonda. Early Dismissal

Please send in a note or call for an early dismissal ahead of time. Students will not receive an early dismissal after 3:15pm as we are preparing for our regular dismissal time.

Attendance

Please make sure your child gets to school every day and on time. If you are a choice student, this is part of your choice agreement. If your child is going to be absent, please send in a note for an excusal. We are working hard at improving our school wide attendance this year. If students have chronic attendance issues, we will follow the process of reporting truancy and if necessary refer to family court. Please get your students here each day.

Asistencia

Band

Band sign ups are taking place for 4th and 5th grade students only. Due to scheduling and space restrictions, instrument options will vary by school.
