Peterborough Elementary School

We had such a busy and exciting week at PES! Our first graders had a wonderful visit to Stonewall Farm, and our fourth graders enjoyed their trip to the Kearsarge Indian Museum. A big thank you to the Fire Department for joining us at our All School Meeting to teach fire safety. Students enjoyed seeing the firefighters demonstrate their gear, and we appreciate them taking the time to visit with us.

A quick reminder that Thanksgiving recess is next week, and school will be closed Wednesday through Friday. In this newsletter, you’ll also find information about our upcoming Winter Concert, the Lantern Parade, and updates from our PTO.

You will receive a copy of the flyer—as well as the lantern your child created—during the first few days after Thanksgiving break. This is a fun community event that many of our students enjoy attending. While it is not a school-sponsored event, we are grateful to partner with Children and the Arts to give students the opportunity to make their lanterns. Additional information can be found below.

Thank you to all the families who came out to last week’s Scholastic Book Fair! We had a great turnout and it was wonderful to see everyone and the excitement the kids had for selecting their own books (and non-books….) The Book Fair is a significant fundraiser for the PTO and we appreciate the support.
