Lincoln Elementary

Mr. Knotts' 5th Grade ELA students participated in Lincoln's Annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest. They chose the character, "Tock," from the Wit & Wisdom text, The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. Tock is literally a "watchdog." A giant clock makes up part of his body and he constantly makes ticking noises. He patrols the Doldrums and stops people from wasting time.

Mrs. Brennan's third grade students participate in a Socratic Seminar as part of Module 1 Wit & Wisdom, "The Sea." Students were discussing two researchers they learned about in the text, Giant Squid, and sharing thoughts about what it must have been like to discover the largest squid ever!

Mrs. Creech's kindergarten students worked in learning groups to find evidence from the text, "My Five Senses" from Module 1 to create posters that gave examples of each of the senses. The students also practiced their listening and speaking skills while presenting the posters they created to their classmates.
