Eclipse Plans
April 8
On April 8 at 3:28, a solar eclipse will occur, offering students at FES the chance to delve into this celestial event. Throughout the day, students will participate in educational activities, watch informative videos, and read about the phenomenon.
The school will supply safety glasses to all students, emphasizing eye protection from the sun's rays.
Parents opting to keep their children home will have absences marked as excused under House Bill 1471.
PTO Sponsored Eclipse Viewing
While we may not be in the path of totality, NASA says we should be able to see about 95% of it! This is all happening right around the time of school dismissal. The FES PTO will be at the school with a few snacks, and information to walk us through the eclipse. The school district is providing eclipse glasses for the students. Please join us to view what we won't see for another 20 years! All students staying after to view the eclipse must be accompanied by an adult. We hope to see many of you there!
Free Summer Programming! Reading, Math, Science, Theater and More...
Good Afternoon,
It is time to register your child for Summer Learning. Please use the following link to sign your elementary child(dren) up. An early registration will ensure that we have the staff and resources to host a robust summer learning program. A separate email will be sent later in the month to register middle and high school students for Summer Academy.
Explore and Expand (all schools) and Title 1 (for AES, PES, Pierce and GES) will begin on July 9th and run through August 1st. The daily schedule for each program is 9 - 12 Tuesday through Thursday. MS Summer Academy (for all rising 5th graders) begins on July 8th and runs through August 1st. MS Summer Academy is four days a week from 8am - 12:15pm. A more detailed description of summer learning opportunities can be found in the registration form.
Similar to last year, all summer programming is free.
Please reach out with any questions!
