Halloween Costume Parade and Classroom Parties
We recognize that not all families celebrate the Halloween tradition. Please know that our school organizes some positive and engaging activities and events in the Library for any students who choose not to participate in the costume parade or classroom parties. Simply email your child's teacher to let them know if you would like your child to enjoy the activities in the Library rather than the costume parade and classroom celebrations.
**COSTUME PARADE**
Join us on Friday, October 30th, from 2:20 to 2:40 PM for Anderson School’s Halloween Costume Parade—a fun-filled celebration of all things fall! If your child would like to participate, they are welcome to bring a simple costume to school. Teachers will provide time for students to change before the parade begins. Please ensure that costumes are easy for your child to put on by themselves and can fit comfortably through doorways. Also, please avoid any violent or frightening themes—no blood, guts, weapons (swords, knives...), or scary wounds—as we want to be mindful of our younger students who may be sensitive to certain costumes. Students should not wear masks that cover their faces.
Parents, guardians, and grandparents are invited to join the fun! The parade will make its way outside to the back of the school, with cones marking the route. We look forward to seeing you there, ready for an overload of cuteness!
**CLASSROOM PARTIES**
After the parade, each classroom will celebrate the hard work students have put in since the start of the school year with a party on Friday, October 3oth (approximately 2:45–3:20 PM, though times may vary by grade level). Teachers may request parent volunteers to help plan, host, or assist during the event. Look for details from your child’s teacher regarding party plans. For a safe and smooth dismissal, we strongly encourage all students to use their regular transportation home.
**IMPORTANT INFORMATION**
- Please remember that all volunteers must bring a current driver’s license or state ID to comply with D303's security check procedures before entering the building.
- Only volunteers who have signed up with the teacher are permitted to attend the party—this is not an "open house" event.
- If you prefer that your child not participate in the costume parade or classroom party, simply inform their teacher. We will have a fun alternative activity available in the library for them.
We can’t wait for a day of fun, creativity, and community celebration!

Click below to view the updated directory. It's never too late to add your families information if you choose.
The purpose of this Google Form is to help Anderson School families connect by collecting and organizing contact information that you may want to share with other families. We often receive requests from parents looking to connect with others in their child's class for organizing playdates, planning birthday parties, or sending thank you notes.
If you still want to be included, it's never too late. Simply fill out the questions below. You can share as much or as little information as you're comfortable. The details you provide will be compiled into a view-only spreadsheet that will be accessible to all Anderson School families.
You must re-enter your families information each school year. If you did it last year, thanks, but you need to do it again. :)
Anderson Strong: Kind, Strong, & Well
Our Anderson foxes have been rocking expectations across all areas in our building. Staff members have been positively reinforcing expected behaviors with specific praise and handing out blue and golden fox tails!
Our Anderson foxes have been rocking expectations across all areas in our building. Staff members have been positively reinforcing expected behaviors with specific praise and handing out blue and golden fox tails! As a school, we collected over 9,000 fox tails, since the start of the school year.
To celebrate, our students have earned a mystery outdoor field trip to our local fire department! Students engaged in great learning about fire safety and enjoyed watching their teachers race the firefighters in putting on their gear! Check out these awesome pictures from our field trip!
This week Anderson Foxes are voting on our next whole school incentive. More information to come!
Also, check out our Character Strong family newsletter to learn more about the responsibility unit that will be taught across all grade levels at Anderson!
