Dr. Krueger's Spotlight on July
July 31st, 2025

"When schools thrive, communities thrive."
A Message From Dr. Lisa Krueger...
Greetings!
Throughout the summer, our administrators, clerical staff, cleaners, custodians, computer support techs, buildings & grounds staff and many others are working hard to ensure we are ready to welcome students back on September 2nd.
Below is a brief reminder of some changes in the upcoming school year:
Distraction-Free Learning Environment
A New York State law will prohibit students from using their personal internet-enabled devices(phones, smart watches, etc.) during the school day starting in September. Building principals will be communicating additional details on their building procedures to ensure devices are off and away for the day.
Raptor Visitor Management System
Beginning this fall, all visitors entering the building during the school day will be required to present government issued identification, which will be processed through our Visitor Management System.
Transportation Opt-Out for the 2025-2026 School Year
Transportation Opt-Out information was recently sent via email. This gives you a way to opt-out of the district transportation if you happen to drive your student(s) to school and/or pick them up at the end of the school day.
We will continue to share information with families throughout the summer through our website, social media and email communications to families. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
We hope your summer has been filled with plenty of fun, relaxation and lasting memories.
With West Seneca Pride,
Dr. Lisa Krueger

WSCSD Students Participate in the WSPD’s Youth Program
15 rising Junior & Senior students participated in the Summer Youth Police Academy Program earlier this month. Each one had to go through an application & interview process. Most of these students also participate in our Criminal Justice BOCES program.
The Youth Academy was 7 days and they had quite the experiences! They learned about the West Seneca Police Department and took a station tour which included dispatch, cell block, patrol cars, courts and checking out all of the toys. Captain Urbanski & our school's SROs presented on law, criminal procedures and going through all arrest paperwork just to name a few. They did PT, practiced their public speaking skills and teamwork, tested out equipment, lifted fingerprints, went on ride alongs and even became certified in CPR. And so much more!
Many thanks to the WSPD for providing our students with a rich summer learning experience! I would also like to thank all of our local businesses and community members for donating lunches and their time to ensure these students(aka cadets) and our officers were well taken care of!
Enjoy some photos below provided by the WSPD.
