7th Bravery - Team Updates

What a year! We have loved getting to spend every day with your child. Thank you for sharing such awesome kids with us!

General Things -

Be an Observer on Canvas

Please check SIS for students' grades.

Students turned in their Chromebooks and chargers on Thursday, May 11.

Science - We wrapped up our unit on weather and climate this week. Next week students will design and begin building boats for the Annual Hixson Cardboard Regatta! Students will use cardboard and one roll of duct tape for their boats. On May 25th they will attempt to sail their boats across the lap pool at the Webster Groves Rec Center. Look for an email with details about the event.

Thanks to a generous donation from the PTO, the regatta is free to our students this year! Thank you Hixson PTO!

ELA - We are officially in our Dystopian Book Club unit. We talked about power and control in a dystopian society. We held our first formal book club discuss on Friday.

Every day the students are expected to read their assigned pages and take a note in their notebooks over the daily reading.

The students are expected to read their book club book for the month of May.

Social Studies -We quickly ran through the 80s and 90s to end our year with the novel study of Ground Zero by Alan Gratz. We will be reading and learning about 9/11 and its effects to end the year.

Math -It is crazy to think that we are already wrapping up the school year. To finish the year we will be learning about probability! This unit is so much fun to end with because a lot of the learning is happening through playing games.

I hope everyone enjoys their summer break! It has been an absolute pleasure being the 7 Bravery math teacher this year!
