This month we are focused on helping students understand that courage is not a magical remedy for fear. Instead, courage is a choice to push through fear, self-doubt, and anxiety to do things that feel hard or frightening. We are partnering with you this month to grow your child’s courage. This month’s activities will help your child understand that courage can equip them to make a positive impact at home, in school, and in the community.

EXCEL: Ask each family member to share something positive they want to do but have been afraid to try. Discuss what fears are getting in the way and steps to overcome those fears. Encourage everyone to try something new this month. Don’t forget to celebrate each family member when they do!

Applications for the 2026/2027 Robotics team are now available in Ms. Mac's room between classes. Applications are due on Friday, March 27, 2026.

Our next Buzz Break is coming up on Friday, March 20th during 5th, 6th, and 7th period! In order to participate, students must not have received any Ds/Fs, ISS, OSS, or cell phone violations during the 3rd 9 weeks of school.

Don't forget to bring your own snack and drink for the snack rotation! Slushies will be served for those that would like one.

These girls have achieved a significant milestone! The SSD Junior High Gymnastics team is the conference champion in their inaugural season. Congratulations to the team, and go Jackets!

The SMS Quiz Bowl team got 4th place at the regional tournament this past week. Great job students!

SMS is going out with a bang this school year! We will be having a spring Fling Friday, April 17th with a DJ, basketball, games, and laser tag hosted by PTO! We are excited to end the school year with his event! We need volunteers! Please click the on the link and sign up to help. Reminder that a background check is required to help, but you have plenty of time to get one if you don't have one! PTO needs YOU to make this event successful!
