Henry Happenings

May 17, 2026
Dear Families,
We are excited to share some outstanding news! Our school has been honored with not one, but two awards in character education. On Friday, we were notified that we were recognized for two Promising Practices in Character Education. One award highlights our Bulldog Town Hall meetings, while the other recognizes the intentional and consistent way we teach and reinforce our common expectations throughout the school community.
“We are incredibly proud to recognize the schools and organizations that have developed and implemented Promising Practices,” said Diana Dodson, Director of Promising Practices. “Each of these practices demonstrates meaningful impact while bringing to life the principles that inspire ‘goodness in action’ and cultivate a culture of character in schools and organizations.”
We are proud of this recognition and grateful for the collective efforts of our students, staff, and families who help make our positive school culture possible. Please see the certificates below!
We look forward to a wonderful last week of school full of reflection, celebration and fun! We hope you have an enjoyable and safe summer with your families. Please know we will be reaching out in late July with a summer newsletter and then again in August to kick off the new year.
We have many things to read out about below so make sure to keep scrolling as we have important updates for you as we send you on your way for the summer. Make sure to see the flyer below on a chance to meet our new Assistant Principal, Mr. Spellicy this summer.
We appreciate you and all you do for our school community.
With Gratitude,
Dr. Jodi Oliver

REMINDER: Per District policy, no bus passes will be issued on May 22nd, the last day of school. Please call the main office if you have any questions. Also, please keep your backpacks at home on the last day unless you are attending Adventure Club!
Extra Yearbook Sales and Signing
We will distribute yearbooks to students on the last day of school, and there will be a grade-level yearbook signing during their Specials time. There will be a signature package for the students who did not order a yearbook, but we do have some extra yearbooks for sale to students who did not order one in February. Students may bring $20 cash or a check (made out to Henry PTO) to purchase a yearbook on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you have a child leaving early before the end of the school year, please notify your child's teacher so that the yearbook gets home with your child before the last day of school.
Staffing Updates
We wish the following staff members well as they head into new positions away from Henry! We can never thank you enough for the impact you have made on our community, our students, and our lives. Remember...once a bulldog, always a bulldog!

PTO Reimbursement for Committee Chariperson or Volunteer
Last call for any committee chairperson or committee volunteer who made purchases for your PTO sponsored activity to submit your receipts for reimbursement. Please complete the reimbursement form found here (which is found on the PTO site) and include copies of the receipts in your email to bulldogtreasurer700@gmail.com. Kari needs all reimbursement forms by May 18th, so she can get the checks out to everyone during the final week of school and balance the PTO books. If there are expenses that occur after May 18th due to end of the year activities just get the reimbursement forms to Kari as soon as possible.
Ballwin Sno-Cone Night- May 19th
Staff Bulldog Brag
Did you know that families can recognize staff members with Bulldog Brags, just like we do for students? If you or your child notice a staff member demonstrating one of our Henry Core Values—Kind, Responsible, Persevere, or Inclusive—we invite you to share it using the button below.
Each staff member who receives a Bulldog Brag will be honored with a certificate and a special surprise. As part of our character education, it is important for students to see adults modeling these values every day—and to hear real examples of what they look like in action!
