On Tuesday, September 27, we had 6 current ETHS seniors who have done 4 years of AVID come to our AVID classroom to share their experience. Four of them were former Nichols students! These quotes are what they had to say about AVID. They shared their college goals and how AVID has supported and helped them to be successful in high school. They also had fun with our 6th graders and shared their hobbies, favorite songs and favorite tv shows. It was a great experience for our middle schoolers to hear the benefit of being a part of AVID!

Memorable Moment

This was such an awesome event for our students. They were so excited to talk with high school seniors. One of the comments they made was, "You are 17! Wow, you are old! Were you born in the 2000?" They enjoyed their 40 minutes with the old kids.

ETHS' AVID Director Visits

Along with the ETHS students, the AVID director from ETHS attended the panel and showed our students how they introduce themselves first before speaking. So, when the high schoolers left, they knew most of the 6th graders' names!

Guardian's Guide: Guardian's Guide:

Thank you for allowing your child to be a part of the AVID program!

Here are ways you can support your AVID scholar at home:

  1. Make sure that your child has their binder with them each evening.
  2. Check the binder each Thursday evening because they have a binder check every Friday.
  3. Provide a space for your child to study and keep completed assignments at home
