Dear Windsong Ranch Elementary Families,

It may have been a short week, but it was packed with learning! We are now in full swing, and itโ€™s exciting to see students engaged and growing each day. On Tuesday, while students enjoyed the day off, our teachers were hard at work planning alongside our Instructional Coach for Depth of Knowledge (DOK), a framework that helps guide instruction. DOK moves beyond memorizing facts and encourages students to think critically, make connections, and apply their learning in new situations. For example, instead of just recalling a math fact, students might be asked to explain how they solved a problem or apply the concept to a real-world scenario. This type of learning builds problem-solving skills and deeper understanding.

We loved seeing so many families at Richland's very first Forthcoming Parade. What a wonderful start to September!

Have a great weekend and we'll see you back at the Ranch on Monday morning.

Together we Prosper,

Michelle Qualls

Together We Champion

Together we champion every studentโ€™s path to excellence through consistent use of the Workshop Model to strengthen Tier 1 instruction, drive growth, and build future-ready learners.

Fourth graders turned math into a game this week! They asked each other yes/no questions to crack the code and guess a mystery whole number all the way up to the hundred-thousands place. Families can try it at home too. Think of a number and let your child ask yes/no questions such as is it odd/even, greater than___/less than____, between ___ and ___...etc, until they solve the mystery!
