Principal's Weekly Update #4
Week of September 14 -18, 2026
From the Desk of Dr. Woods-Weeks
Greetings Pirate Families,
Thank you for your continued partnership. When school and home work together, our students thrive!
Keeping the Main Thing the Main Thing
As we move into Week 4, our focus remains on creating a school where every student feels known, supported, challenged, and empowered to succeed.
Our commitment is simple:
Every Classroom. Every Student. Every Day.
We are continuing to strengthen instruction, attendance, student engagement, and relationships across our campus. I encourage families to stay connected with teachers, monitor student progress, encourage consistent attendance, and remind our Pirates that their daily choices matter.
We are building something special at Riverside, and we are building it together.
With appreciation, Roll Pirates Roll!
Dr. Gloria Woods-Weeks

We are excited about the partnership and opportunities ahead this year!
ATTENDANCE CORNER
PIRATE FOCUS OF THE WEEK
“Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.”
— Vincent van Gogh
This week let's remind our Pirates that success doesn't happen all at once. It is built through consistent attendance, effort, perseverance, positive choices, and a willingness to keep going.
One day. One class. One choice at a time.
-
Our school attendance last week: 83.62%. We must do better.
-
Goal for next week: 95%
-
Reminder: Every day matters! If your student will be out, please let us know.

Preparing. Practicing. Protecting.
The safety and security of our students and staff remain a top priority.
During the month of October, Riverside High School will conduct a lockdown drill. The specific date is still being determined, and families will be notified once it has been finalized.
The purpose of this drill is to help students and staff understand and practice our emergency procedures so that everyone knows how to respond appropriately should an actual emergency occur.
We appreciate your partnership in helping us reinforce the importance of taking all safety drills seriously while reassuring students that these practices are designed to prepare, not alarm.
