We continue to get closer and closer to the end of the school year and things continue to get very busy! There area a lot of end-of-the-year events going on the next few weeks, all of which can be viewed below.
Awards Day is on Wednesday at Northwest. Grades 9-11 will be at 9am and grades 7-8 will be at 1:30pm.
May also brings tryout season for our sports teams for next school year. The tryout schedule is below. If a student makes one of our teams they MUST have an updated physical in order to participate in Summer activities- no exceptions! We will offer free physicals on May 21 at school courtesy of Mission Medical and Encore Rehabilitation.
Our golf team will play in the substate at Silver Lakes in Gadsden tomorrow. They won the Class 1A-3A Section 4 tournament last week. Ayla Stowe earned a low score medal.
Several of our student participated in Special Olympics last week and had a great time. Thank you to our student volunteers who helped with the event and thank you to Tharptown High School for putting on the event.
We concluded our Mosaic Mentoring program for the year. This was a great program for our students and those at PCES.
We inducted new members into the National Honor Society and Junior National Honor Society this week. Congratulations to all who were inducted.
Have a great week!

New Diploma Options
Click on the link to the article below for a great explanations of the new diploma pathways for high school students. The big takeaways are that parents/guardians and students need to fully informed of the choices and the consequences of the choices. It will much easier to start with Option A and fall back to Option B than vice versa. And, if your child plans to attend a four-year college, Option A is the best. The AHSAA will recognize Option B for athletic eligibility. The NCAA, unlikely.
