SOS: Save Our School PCMS

The MOST important thing you can do right now to support Park Crest Middle School from closing in 2027-2028, is to attend the PFISD Board Meeting @ 6pm this Thursday, April 16th: Admin Building Board Room, 1401 W Pecan St, Pflugerville, TX 78660. The more presence we have at the meeting, the more effective our message. Come wearing your PCMS shirts, bring a poster or hold one of ours!

MEET AT 5PM IN THE ADMIN BUILDING PARKING LOT! You can't miss us. We will be there with banners, signs, even a large truck. If you can't be there at 5, come when you can!

If you plan to speak: You will sign up to speak during the public comment section of the boar meeting in the reception area of the admin building immediately upon entering the doors. All speakers MUST be signed up to speak by 5:30pm. YES! Your student or past students/faculty can speak! It is likely the usual 3 minute time limit for speakers will be reduced to 2 minutes due to people wanting to speak from all the schools facing proposed closure. Prepare a 2 minute speech that you will read over a microphone to the board.

If you plan to speak or hold a sign it is helpful if you let us know on our sign up (under April 16th). It is not necessary, however, to sign up. So come either way!

Hiten Bhatpuria, a PCMS parent and starter of our Keep Parkcrest Open petition, is creating a video to show the Board of Trustees. This video is for any Parkcrest stakeholder-students, parents, community members. However, because it requires minors in the video, we have created a careful consent process to protect everyone. Videos do not have to be long. Simply use an adult cell phone to capture a brief statement about what Parkcrest means to you and/or why you are against Draft Proposal #7. All you need is located in the QR code/link below. Simply follow the instructions. Thank you for this important participation in our efforts to keep Parkcrest Middle School open!

Can't attend the April 16th Board Meeting? Or perhaps you like to plan ahead...

Please sign up for the May 7th and May 14th Board Meeting as well. May 7th will be our last opportunity to plead our case before the vote on May 14th. May 14th will be the vote itself. We are hoping the Board votes against Draft Proposal #7: The closure of Parkcrest Middle School and the re-zoning of its students.

After the Board's vote on May 14th, the 15th will be a day of great joy or sadness depending on the outcome. Either way the PTO will be there to support our Teachers, Staff, & School. We are planning a Post-Vote Potluck for Staff in the Lounge. Please sign up to bring something HERE.
