I am so proud of our students and staff with the amazing start we have had to the 22-23 school year. The students have been working hard and following directions already. Certainly we are all getting into our routine of being at school with expectations and learning each day. It has been great to witness the smiles, chatter, and giggles in our hallways and classrooms again. Thank you parents for supporting us in so many positive ways including a regular sleep schedule and preparing the night before for your morning routine. We see this as positive ways to set our students up for success during the school day!
You are all invited to our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)/LB Williams Family Fun Fest. This will be held on Tuesday, September 13th from 4:30 to 6:30. This is a great way to get together with other LBW families at the beginning of the school year. We hope to see you there!
Soon I will be starting my classroom meetings in 5th grade and will continue throughout the next few weeks with each classroom in all grade levels. Getting to know our new friends in Kindergarten and our returning students continues to be a priority for me. This give me a chance to hear student ideas and also to remind our students how we keep all safe on the playground and throughout our entire building.
Please be watching for our Anti-Bullying Kick-Off at the end of September - October. We will have two weeks of learning more about the book Energy Bus for Kids plus other events will be held throughout the year too. This year instead of kids earning STAR cards for postive choices as we have done in the past, our students are earning "LBW Bus Tokens" each day that are showing their positive energy at LBW by being kind, helpful and a leader. If you hear kids talking about how they earned a "Bus Token" which in turn means they may have been called to the office for a special prize during morning announcements.
