MTSS Lead Weekly Updates
Week of September 9th
Thank You!
Thank you to Stephanye Jimerson and Susan McClanahan from Snowden K-8 and Tracy Hunter from Holmes Road Elementary for sharing there best practices during the RTI2A+B Showcase at University of Memphis on Friday, September 6th. Resources will be available later this week to all participants as well as those who were not able to attend.
Dates to use for Survey Level Assessment
When you complete survey level assessment (SLA), it will ask you for start and end dates. This will support you with obtaining a ROI (Rate of Improvement) period.
Start date: This is the date the SLA was administered.
End date: December 20, 2024
Progress Monitoring
Progress monitoring is required for students who have a Tier 2 or Tier 3 plan and is completed in aimswebPlus. The scores captured provide important data points on student progress that can be used in the data based decision making teams.
Remember:
We will progress monitor students at their instructional level in the identified skill deficit area according to the cadence of the probes and Tiers. Tier 3 should be monitored weekly while Tier 2 should be monitored bi-weekly. Reading Comprehension, Silent Reading Fluency, and Math Concepts and Applications are monitored bi-weekly regardless of Tier or grade.
We will progress monitor students once per month at grade level.
Data for progress monitoring is best viewed in aimswebPlus as you can see the charts and dates all in one. Additional data is available in PowerBi. Please pay attention to alerts indicated by the exclamation mark at the top right of the screen. If there is red frame around any of the titles, please use caution and defer to aimswebPlus for the best source.
Best Practices for Progress Monitoring
- Set a schedule for the students to be progress monitored (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday is recommended as this avoids most holidays and school events).
- Adhere to the specific directions for administering progress monitoring probes.
- You must administer a grade level survey level assessment first. Reference the chart above for survey level assessment information.
