Upcoming Total Solar Eclipse
The Total Solar Eclipse is April 8. We can't wait to share this rare experience with our students! All science classes will study the eclipse in class and students will have the opportunity to witness the eclipse firsthand. Thanks to the generosity of the Perot Museum, each student will receive a pair of eclipse glasses for safe viewing.
Given the anticipated influx of visitors to our area of DFW for the eclipse, we want to assure you that we are in regular communication with our public safety partners about the day. For a detailed overview of what your student can expect at school during this event, please refer to the linked flyers below. Additionally, as the date approaches, we will be sending out further information via email to keep families informed.
Save the Date: High School Summer School
Mark your calendar: If your high schooler plans on attending Summer School, registration begins May 1. Watch for an email with more details later this spring. For general information and offerings, click the links below.

Wylie High School Girls Powerlifting Rise to Power, Bring Home State Titles
Wylie High School girls powerlifting brought home two state titles and also placed in the top five at the 6A Texas High School Women's Powerlifting State meet. Winning the state championship as a team in Unequipped, AHMO Iron also placed fourth as a team in Equipped.
This year is the first time the unequipped division was offered. Also known as competing raw, athletes in the unequipped division were not allowed to wear knee wraps, squat and deadlift bodysuits nor bench shirts.
Senior Emily Phillips is the state champion in her weight class, lifting a total of 1095 lbs!
Congratulations to Head Powerlifting Coach Katie Hathaway and to her powerlifters for powering up.
Cooper, Draper, and Tibbals Students Honored at Murphy Chamber Gala for Community Involvement
Wylie ISD students were guests of honor at the Murphy Chamber of Commerce Annual Gala in February. Tibbals third-grader Sienna Peek, Draper fifth-grader Olive Jimenez, Cooper seventh-graders Aubriella Peek and Kinley Burch, and Draper sixth-graders Mona Ibrahim and Arianna Peek were recognized at the gala for their participation in the Chamber’s Summer Youthpreneur Academy.
"[The gala] was so cool -- we were like VIPs,” Olive said. “We had to dress up fancy with the theme that was Mardi Gras. When they called my name to go up, I was a little nervous but excited."
