A Message from Principal Laughlin
Dear Parents and Guardians,
During the month of May, Wall Intermediate School students will be participating in the New Jersey Student Learning Assessments (NJSLA). Students in all grades will be assessed in the areas of Language Arts and Math and in grade eight for Science.
Testing will be as follows:
May 11th - ELA Reading - All grades
May 12th - ELA Writing - All Grades
May 13th - Math - All Grades
May 14th - Science (8th Grade Only)
May 15th - Science (8th Grade Only)
Please make sure your child is well rested and comes to school on time. In addition, it is very important that your child brings in a fully charged chromebook each day of testing. Also, if your child does have a pair of "wired" earbuds, please have them bring them in to use for the test.
Sincerely,
Mr. Laughlin

❗Important Information
The term “Luggage for Love” refers to charity drives that collect and donate luggage, duffel bags, or suitcases filled with essential items to children in foster care or in crisis. This idea comes from the reality that many children entering foster care must transport all their belongings in plastic garbage bags, which can be demeaning and destabilizing. Providing real luggage instead helps give dignity, comfort, and a sense that they matter. Our goal is for the students at WIS to collect items that can go into these bags and use 2/18 and 2/26 to pack the bags in their Wellness Wednesday homeroom. Finally, we are looking to have selected students (knighted or students of the MPs) to take these items to the outreach building in Bradley Beach to meet with St. James Episcopal Church and CASA representatives who have started the Luggage for Love initiative and will receive our donation for foster children served by CASA of Monmouth and Ocean County at the end of February.

WTPS Appoints Dr. David Bleakley as New Superintendent of Schools
As you are aware, Dr. Handerhan announced back in the fall that she will be retiring at the end of this school year. Since then, the Wall Township Board of Education has been actively engaged in the search for a new Superintendent of Schools. At last night’s Board of Education Meeting, the Board of Education appointed Dr. David Bleakley as the next WTPS Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2026. Dr. Bleakley brings with him over 20 years of educational experience, and the Board of Education is thrilled to welcome him to the District.
