Week of November 24, 2024 Week of November 24, 2024

Good Evening TIgers,

This is Noel Keener, the proud principal of Ragsdale High, with this week's updates.

Interims will be emailed out on Tuesday. Please be on the lookout for the email to be informed of your student's progress.

In quarter two, all students were reset with 15 SmartPasses for the quarter. Students can use the restroom during all passing periods and lunch as well. Appointments can be made to meet with counselors.

On either December 2, 3, or 5, select seniors will be taking 3 WorkKeys assessments. Each assessment is 55 minutes long. This assessment measures skills required for success in the workplace, and help measure the workplace skills that can impact job performance. Successful completion of WorkKeys core assessments can lead to earning an ACT WorkKeys® National Career Readiness Certificate™ —a credential that verifies the skills found to be most essential (and sometimes required!) across industries and occupations. Seniors are eligible to take it if they are, or are expected to be, a CTE Pathway completer.

As a reminder, all Ragsdale students are provided a free breakfast and lunch. Students who stay after school may also be provided snacks. We do not accept outside food deliveries during the school day.

There will be no school Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of this week. Enjoy your time with family and friends!

Please see our calendar on our website for the most up to date information and for game and practice schedules.

We look forward to seeing you Monday at 8:55!

Thank you , have a great week, and, as always, TIGER PRIDE!

Athlete of the Week

We are thrilled to announce that Hart Adams has been recognized as Ragsdale Athletics' Athlete of the Week for his outstanding performance three weeks ago. Hart, a junior forward on our men's soccer team, scored the winning goal in a thrilling match against Grimsley, leading the Tigers to a 2-1 victory.

This impressive win not only showcased Hart's skill on the field but also secured a home playoff game for the Tigers, who qualified for the NCHSAA playoffs after finishing third in the 4A Metro conference.

Hart's journey back to the field has been nothing short of inspiring. After suffering a concussion earlier in the season, he demonstrated incredible determination and resilience in working hard to return to play alongside his teammates. Our dedicated athletic trainer, Chelsea LaFluer, played a crucial role in Hart's recovery, ensuring he was fully prepared to make his comeback.

Congratulations, Hart, on this well-deserved recognition! Your hard work and dedication to the team exemplify the spirit of Ragsdale Athletics.

After isolation, the individual should continue with enhanced prevention strategies for the next five days, such as wearing masks, maintaining distance, and improving hygiene and air quality.
