Principal's Message
Ride Family,
Another great week at Ride! We could not be more proud of our Challengers and our teachers for all their hard work. There is so much wonderful learning happening in our classrooms, and it is exciting to see how much our students are growing!
Our Challengers have also been busy celebrating all the fun rewards they earned through our Ride's Galaxy of Learning Fundraiser! From ice cream parties and glow parties to Rock and Roll Recess and lunch and recess at Ridgewood Park, our students have had so much fun! A HUGE thank you to our amazing PTO for organizing all these special celebrations and to our families for making them possible. We are so grateful for your generosity and support!
One of the things I love most about our fundraiser is that the money raised goes right back to creating wonderful experiences for our students. This week, our Pre-K Challengers enjoyed a trip to the Children's Museum, and our fourth graders had the opportunity to attend a Houston Symphony concert. Next week, our second graders will head to Old MacDonald's Farm on October 29. It is hard to believe we are already wrapping up October! We have a busy and exciting week ahead, and we hope you will join us for some of these wonderful events!
We are looking forward to celebrating Red Ribbon Week! Be sure to check out the calendar below for our fun dress-up days. We would love to see all our Challengers participate!
We are so excited to kick off our very first Ride Around the Neighborhood event! Our teachers and staff will be heading to the 333 Holly Community Center to spend time with our families, share some great books, enjoy fun reading activities, and pass out a special October treat!
One of our goals this year is to find more ways to connect with our families beyond the walls of Ride. We want to get out into our community, build relationships, and let our families know how much they mean to us. If you live in the area, we would LOVE for you to stop by and spend some time with us!
We can't wait to see our third graders shine on stage Thursday evening! They have been working hard, and we are looking forward to a wonderful performance!
Our Storybook Parade is one of my favorite Ride traditions! We hope you will come out and line the parade route shown below as our Challengers show off their favorite storybook characters. It is always such a fun morning, and the students LOVE seeing their families cheering them on!
And this year, we have a little extra excitement planned! Following the parade, we will head to the field for our Teacher Sliming Celebration! Our Challengers worked hard to reach their fundraising goals, and now our teachers get to enjoy a little slime! I have a feeling this might be one of our students' favorite rewards!
As I look back on all the wonderful things happening at Ride, I am reminded of just how fortunate we are to have such an incredible school community. Our teachers work so hard each day to make sure our students are learning and growing, and our families continue to show up and support us in so many ways.
Thank you for trusting us with your children and for being such an important part of our Ride Family. We are grateful for you and so proud of all our Challengers are accomplishing!
Have a wonderful weekend!

GT Referral Window
Testing Referral requests are now open for Conroe Independent School District Gifted and Talented program. Although the testing will not take place until late January, referral requests are accepted at this time. Referral requests can be made by the parents and/or campus staff. It is recommended that parents of 2nd grade students wait until CogAT scores have arrived before nominating their child because CogAT scores are part of the GT assessment. If you are interested in referring your child, you may want to discuss this with your child’s teacher. Referrals will be accepted October 1 - December 19, 2026. You may request a referral form from the front office or your child's teacher or you can download the form below. Please send the completed form to the school addressed to Bree Jones
Permission for Ridgewood Park
Throughout the school year, Ride Elementary students may visit Ridgewood Park for special events, activities, and learning experiences. Please complete this form to give permission for your child to visit, play, and participate in activities at Ridgewood Park with their class and teacher.
Please complete one form for each child who attends Ride Elementary.
Before each planned visit to Ridgewood Park, your child’s classroom teacher will send an email with information about the special event or activity.

Birthday Treats
To help us keep everyone safe and ensure celebrations run smoothly, please remember that any birthday treats brought to school must follow our treat guidelines. Treats should be commercially prepared, nut-free, and clearly labeled with ingredients.
**Please note that we can not accept birthday treats from Shipley’s Donuts, as their corporate office has informed us that their products contain nuts.**
Treats that do not meet these guidelines will not be permitted in the classroom. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us celebrate safely!

We value the contributions you make to Ride to support our outstanding students, teachers, and programs. It is our goal to provide a safe environment for our students and visitors. If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the Volunteer Application. This includes working in the classroom, reading to students, working in the library, etc..
Breakfast & Lunch
Parents are encouraged to prepay for their child’s meals through myschoolbucks.com. Please allow up to 48 hours for payments to be applied to your child’s account.
Breakfast is served daily from 7:30–7:55 a.m. Breakfast costs $2.00, and a regular student lunch is $3.20. À la carte items are also available for purchase at varying prices.
For menus, nutrition information, and additional details, please visit the CISD Child Nutrition website.
If sending cash or a check to school, please place it in a sealed envelope labeled with your child’s name, ID number, and grade level to ensure the payment is applied correctly. Checks should be made payable to CISD Child Nutrition and include the parent’s driver’s license number and date of birth. Free and Reduced-Price Meals
Families interested in applying for free or reduced-price meals may complete an application through myschoolapps.com. Students who do not qualify for the free or reduced-price meal program will need funds in their account or payment at the time of purchase for breakfast and lunch.
Lunch Visitors
We have found that the first few weeks of school are an important time for students to build independence, learn routines, and become comfortable in their new environment. To support this transition, we kindly ask that parents and guardians wait until August 24 before joining their child for lunch.
Due to limited seating in our cafeteria, all lunch visitors will be required to sign up in advance. We will share additional information, including the lunch visitor sign-up process, in the coming weeks.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we help our Challengers get off to a great start this school year!
School Hours
School hours are 7:50 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. Students must be in their classroom before the 7:55 a.m. bell rings, or they will be considered tardy. Please note that 7:30 a.m. is the earliest time that your child may be dropped off. We do not have staff available to supervise students until that time.
Tardy Policy - A student is tardy if not in the classroom at 7:50 a.m. If your child is tardy, parents must sign him/her in at the front office. When a student is tardy, an e-mail will be sent to the student’s guardian for notification.
